Very difficult to arrange an appointment or get through in the morning. Now that everything has to go through the reception phone line it’s become much harder for those of us who have other commitments (e.g. commuting, childcare or just being at work) to get through and arrange to see a GP or nurse. I understand that the practice ‘is fully compliant with NHS guidelines’ (as somewhat sniffily said by one of the reception staff), but this doesn’t make it any easier for those of us who lack the time and availability to call at 8am, then wait up to 45 minutes for the call to be connected. If the practice were serious about providing a good service they would consider other options (e.g. online bookings) for those of us who simply cannot afford to spend this length of time on the phone at that time of day, or indeed during office hours. There seems to be no plan to do so, however. I’ve been told that the reason for stopping the online appointment service was that people did not turn up to their appointments. That might be so, but is it fair to penalise the rest of us because of the actions of some people who unfairly don’t turn up? A better approach might be to insist that repeat offenders can only book an appointment by phone. There are plenty of us who would never fail to turn up to an appointment and who would really benefit from the flexibility an online booking service provides. I think the practice is good overall in terms of the professionalism of all the staff. The doctors and nurses are conscientious and mostly very good at what they do. I usually feel like my health is in safe hands. The receptionists and practice managers work very hard to manage the practice and deal with the workload. However, it seems to be slipping backwards in terms of accessibility and ease of use.

*Happened 16/01/23..this morning... If I could give no stars to this specific Receptionist that would be great and more specific! The rest of the staff are fine and dandy....the Diabetes Sister..the Welfare Coordinator ..and some of the nurses....they're great!...but this specific staff member.....Awful Receptionist here! Each time I phone this particular Receptionist only always seems very abrasive and combative towards me!? For no apparent reason! Perhaps this Receptionist is very stressed out who knows!?....In the past she wouldn't give the results of my mother's urine test...this time I was having problems trying to get a prescription for mum's 'Zopiclones' they don't have it at her usual pharmacy, problem with suppliers so they say..I said to this Receptionist that when I phoned before Christmas and spoke with their colleague, they said to come up in about an hour to pick up the script to which I did..that particular Receptionist was fine....but this one says says to email online prescription!? And this particular specific Receptionist said "No you didn't"?!?!.. to me!.. and this Receptionist followed with "It must of been done through the pharmacy the appt to pick up at the surgery"!? Said in an abrupt and short tempered manner!? To which none of what this specific Receptionist said to me was true!! This Receptionist said all this to me as if they were accusing me that this never happened and that I was lying!?!? Rude, strange and bizarre behaviour from this staff member....in the end I found it at another pharmacy after I phoned up mum's usual pharmacy for some more clarity..they said they all use the same system 'Spine'?..I went up Fallodon anyway afterwards because I was nearby ...thought I could have a little talk with this specific Receptionist to clear the air so to speak but there was another Receptionist there already who seemed to be having an argument and altercation with one of the patients there in the waiting room!? Didn't surprise me...hope they improve....

Hi I've recently had various reasons to call on you and I just wanted to thank you for your support and help. I think the Health Navigator system really works and find it very useful. I'm not afraid to say I had one of two minor criticisms about 2 years ago but you've really restructured and target your resources. Thanks again and a Happy New Year to all. Bren

Every time i need to see a doctor urgent they have always find appointment for me on the same day the receptionist are always polite and very efficient

Came in today appointment was very late but receptionist was amazing explained why kept me informed and gave up her fan for me because I was so hot, what a star! Dr was brilliant, so thorough and explained everything. Have not been happy with the practice following my mums death and lack of support and these staff have restored my faith! Absolutely brilliant, thank you.

All staff very friendly and proficient (the nurses are excellent especially when taking blood, the doctors are clearly very knowledgeable, simply brilliant). Always a good and helpful experience would have no hesitation recommending this practice.

Every time I have needed to contact the surgery I have been met by polite, caring and very helpful reception staff. Everyone is extremely busy and despite being told there are no appointments available with a GP in the timeframe I needed to have a new medication reviewed, I received a telephone call from the preferred GP at 19.45 on the same day. It wasn’t an emergency and I could have waited a few more days. This in my eyes is going above and beyond and I want to thank everyone at the practice for this. GP’s are constantly being bashed by the media currently and the reality is we are extremely lucky to have such dedicated teams. Thank you.
