Review titled good practise but hard to get through on phone

i have been with this practise for 50 + years and been satisfied but lately have felt angry and frustrated at phoning for an appointment for a blood test which my doctor asked for ,to make an appointment giving me a list or phone numbers ,when i tried this , all i got was a recorded answer ,,this kept me on the phone waiting for 2 hours at a cost to me of £10 on my phone bill,this is unacceptable , i am on a state pension and cannot afford to pay this ,for a phone call to make an appointment ,also ,not all pensioners are online with access to online services .

I have had previous excellent care from the practice Mental Health Nurse last year and again needed some assistance very recently. Nothing is too much trouble and I felt very comfortable speaking freely about the issues I have and was fitted in for an appointment within a couple of hours. Thanks so much, its very much appreciated.

I requested an appoint and a repeat prescription via Patches. I received prompt replies to both requests. Unfortunately, the appointment given wasn’t convenient. I called the practice and spoke to a very pleasant young lady who rescheduled the appointment for me. I have never had a problem with the practice or staff in the 6 years I have been with them.

Saw DR Kumar re my shoulder injury gave great explanation of problem and understood my need for correct medication to aid recovery and ability to sleep warned me of possible long term side effects of current medication and suggested better alternative.

I reported depression and anxiety through Econsult and was struggling. Was contacted within a couple of hours of the Econsult and prescribed with the correct medication for me. I was referred for a number of appointments with the Mental Health Nurse who has been brilliant and really supportive. Thanks for the great service it has been very much appreciated.

Diagnosed during the Covid pandemic and getting little or no relevant support elsewhere I joined this practice. The doctors and their team have in just one week put together a treatment and support plan. Looking at my condition as a whole rather than wanting to treat individual symptoms and therefore removing unnecessary medication and therapy and replacing with more appropriate measures. I was given detailed instructions of things I could do to help myself and improve my confidence and quality of life and to start living more normally.

Was given an appointment with gp with a health problem I’ve been suffering with for a couple of weeks , 3rd time back to the surgery not had a problem until today . I left that appointment feeling worse , don’t feel like gp was interested in hearing anything I wanted to say all he was interested in is what he could see , my voice counted for nothing , his words were that it’s my anxieties that was making me feel this way and I was in that room for no longer then 2 minutes ,,, I felt belittled , will not be seeing that gp again . I have been a patient at this surgery for many years and never left feeling like I did today .

After 27 years at this practice I will be leaving after having to visit the surgery again due to persistent symptoms of an illness which was yet to be diagnosed. After saying what was wrong the doctor seemed very disinterested and persisted to show me what was on the computer and that all was OK but not all test had been done then I was asked have I ever been diagnosed with a condition where I think things are wrong with me but they are not I was shocked to be asked this question as I am certainly not a hypochondriac and only wanted to get better which now I am much worse I was prescribed folic acid and ended up having to visit a private doctor and was diagnosed with a bad sinus and chest infection this has caused me to have mental health issues and to feel I couldn't be helped hopefully my new doctors will be much better.

There has been numerous occasions whereby the GP’s have called me in the evening to ensure a telephone consultation took place, and as a patient I did not have to wait any longer than was necessary to get advice, or have medication prescribed.
