Unfortunately, I have found my overall experience with Burghfield health centre to be unacceptable. From rude and unhelpful Receptionists to GP's that provide incorrect medical information. I have previously made a direct complaint in relation to one GP who provided me with false information, leaving me feeling incredibly worried and anxious about my health. I require 3 monthly vitamin b12 injections for pernicious anemia, which I have been receiving for many years, and have always booked my appointment the week that it is required, however, this week I attempted to make my appointment to be told that there were none available for me until July 18th! Nearly a month over the required period. The Receptionist offered me an appointment in their sister surgery, however, this is a bus ride away into town and is not suitable for myself due to other medical issues which were explained.

Was on hold for 25 mins yesterday, never got through. Went down to the practice this morning and despite its opening hrs being 7am on here, they dont open until 8am. Finally got in there and was told they no longer offer travel vaccinations and I need to go to a pharmacy (which is fine, but given how much hassle its been to get a simple answer, I wouldn't recommend as a practice).

I phoned to complain of severe back spasming and intense pain. The receptionist stated the only thing that could be done was to book a physio appointment in 4 days or a doctor’s appointment in 12 days. I reiterated that the pain was incredibly intense and asked if I could speak to a nurse. The answer was “no”. I encourage everyone to register at the Mortimer surgery in order to avoid this astonishing lack of concern, sympathy and care.
