  1. Review titled worst practice ever

Rated 1 star out of 5

Staff informed me that I could not join unless I provided my NHS number. It took months to sort out and then I had to wait weeks for an appointment. I told the doctor about my problems only to be met with the answer "oh, I'm not really concerned about that", which is useless to me and doesn't help. Staff are rude and overly assertive, for no good reason, almost aggresive. I attended the surgery twice and it was empty but the receptionists were all sitting in the back having a conversation and left me standing at the desk. They did blood tests, wanted to talk to me about the results today and have cancelled the phone call from a doctor - instead they want me to speak to their pharmacist. This is not the NHS service that is expected of our taxes!

  2. Review titled Above and beyond

Rated 5 stars out of 5

I visited the surgery this morning about a urinary infection. This was seen to promptly and efficiently and some doctors would have then shown me to the door but this particular doctor could see that I had other medical problems too and spent a lot of her very precious time discussing them with me. I came away thinking that someone who really cared was ‘on my case’ and would seek to get me the medical help that I needed. Throughout the consultation she was kind, considerate and sympathetic. In these days of telephone appointments yes, my urinary infection would have been treated but seeing me in the consulting room she became aware of how much deterioration there had been to an ongoing medical problem. She was prepared to spend time going through my notes and setting me on the course to get further investigations underway. At no time was I made to feel that I had been allocated a time slot and my time was up: this doctor went above and beyond what was required of her in a busy practice. nary
