  1. Review titled Understaffed or mis-managed?

by Jacqueline Barcoe - Posted on 16 April 2024

I remember when you could phone and get an appointment, but now you have to jump through hoops via a complicated process. Calling the surgery is painful, the 2 times I've had to call this week I was waiting for over 25 minutes to be answered. The website states you can make appointments online. But the surgery has confirmed that it doesn't work, so why it's still on the website I have no idea, I went through the whole rigmarole of registering for the online service to be told it doesn't work. You now have to complete an eConsult, and that's only available between 08.00-13.00 hr. So I will lose a day already in trying to even send a request for a callback (hardly ever get an actual face to face appointment now). It's just such a stressful process trying to even get to talk to someone. Another problem we've encountered this week is my husband needed an emergency prescription, was told it would be issued on Monday and would go to the pharmacy that evening. He went to pharmacy, queued for half an hour to be told it wasn't there. He then went to the surgery and was told it was still waiting for a doctors signature and they couldn't tell him when it would be signed. As it was for severe anxiety attacks, this added to his stress levels making him even worse. I think the service at the surgery is definitely getting worse, and it's not down to the staff, more the staffing levels not being able to cope and rectify the issues. As well as no personal contact with patients, everything having to be done via online consultations that take forever. And we are extremely worried that due to a large number of new homes being built in the area, this is going to get even worse.

  2. Review titled Shocking!

Rated 1 star out of 5

The econsult system is an absolute joke. Unless you are at the ready 7am or 8am sharp, you're not going to get an appointment. It took 6 months to book an appointment and when I finally managed, I got told to collect referrals and test kit from reception. I went the following day to collect and was met by passive aggressive receptionists asking why did I not go the day before. Working full time doesn't allow me to leave whenever I want and they did not say I need to collect same day. The woman at reception said "How did you come today then?" Absokutely unbelievable! At the moment I am on my 3rd hour being on hold trying to talk to someone at the surgery regarding a sick note. I am unwell and cannot go to collect it myself. When I spoke to them earlier in the day (by some miracle it seems) they said they'll send a link to me via text so I can download the sick note. I've received nothing. No one is picking up the phone. And when they do pick up on the odd occasion, they're so unbelievably rude! Unfortunately, they know they are the only surgery nearby and rely on people to be desperate and treat their patience extremely bad. What a shame!!! The surgery had the potential to be good only if the actual staff and doctors cared a little.

  3. Review titled Horrible GP

Rated 1 star out of 5

This is the gp with the least desire to work that I have ever experienced. As a general rule, I don't usually get sick or have to go to the doctor, but the few times I have had to go they always tell you that there is no Face to Face appointment, it is always by phone and, as a doctor, will see what you have by phone . They always give you a thousand excuses to serve you and in the end they never call you. Yesterday, I called to get my wife's medicines prescribed (who is pregnant) and they made me send an email to confirm the pills, so far something normal in general, but after two hours waiting for prescribe some pills that are essential for the pregnancy, it turns out that they closed and did not prescribe them. This morning, first thing in the morning, I called again and they told me that the doctor had them in his folder to sign them. I called again at 12 in the morning and they assured me and promised that it was already ready to pick up at the pharmacy. We went to the pharmacy to pick it up and it turns out that it turned not signed. We got to the doctor who was a 1-minute walk away and they told us that they weren't there, that the doctor was in a meeting and that he might be here today or maybe tomorrow. Like maybe tomorrow?? They are essential pills for pregnancy and they are urgent. His only response was "call 111, go to the hospital or wait for the doctor to sign the medicines". since another thing is that we have been waiting for more than 1 year for a doctor to see my wife for a stomach problem and we are still waiting. No matter how close this GP is, I do not recommend it.

  4. Review titled Inability to reach your GP or send an econsult

Rated 3 stars out of 5

by Anonymous - Posted on 24 May 2023

Sadly the infrastructure to make an appointment online or even send an econsult is sorely lacking. Lunchtime and the practice has already reached capacity to even send an econsult. No online service to make an appointment with a GP. They make it so hard for you to make an appointment you give up. Unless you are free to wait on hold for an hour to get through on the telephone to speak to someone you are unlikely to get an appointment in the next month. Worrying that you cant even reach your GP, they make it near on impossible to do so.

  5. Review titled Terrible practice

Rated 1 star out of 5

This surgery on the NHS website clearly states that it covers our postcode, however when we went to register our newborn, we were informed that we have been taken off the patients list as we had not even been informed of this! We have only just found out when trying to register our newborn! Poor communication and now left us all without a GP.

  6. Review titled The worst practice ever

Rated 1 star out of 5

It takes me weeks to sort out a prescription which the doctor messed up on a number of occasions and still I am left without my medication. I'm on hold for hours on end trying to contact the GPS and when I do get through no one can help me and I'm told a doctor will call me and no one does. This surgery had got worst through the pandemic, never any doctors available and the receptionist haven't a clue. I'm repeating myself every single time I ask for my medication, it's such a long story I can't even put into words. This causes me high levels and stress and anxiety. If you can avoid this surgery, I am stuck I can't even move as all other surgery's are at full capacity or do I'm told.
