    I’ve been with Cornbrook now for 2.5 years and they’re fantastic. The NHS and especially primary care services are under a lot of pressure and scrutiny at the moment, however I’ve always had good experiences with cornbrook. When I had an issue the practice manager looked into this and was understanding and made me feel heard. I always been referred promptly for specialist services and the doctors, nurses and physician associates I’ve seen have always been polite and reassuring when I’ve been worried about something. The reception staff are also very friendly and helpful.

    Practice is abysmal. You can't even access care. If you live in the area, try other practices. I haven't been able to get an appointment within a month.

    Doctors have an oath. Doctors have a duty of care. This practise has failed me too many times. They have neglected me and haven’t given me/us the service we deserve. Long waiting times on the phone, reception act like bouncers and are rude and unhelpful. I have been struggling with several health issues for years that have not been dealt with or treated as a priority. When I argue about how unwell I feel and how neglected I feel, they don’t care. Do Not register at this practise. The only good thing are the doctors themselves, but once again, if they have to refer you elsewhere, they just drop you and don’t care if you’re still struggling. Awful awful awful.

    I have been registered at this practice for 26yrs and never had a reason to complain, in fact I would have rated it one of the best in Manchester. I feel abandoned by the practice now. I understand that COVID has had a huge impact but I’ve not seen a GP in over 12 months. I was asked to contact the surgery for a repeat test in December but gave up after not getting through, I then was asked to book a medication review in January and after a couple of days of trying to get through finally got to speak to a receptionist on 23rd January, booked a medication review but because I wasn’t sure what the test was she said she would query with a doctor. I still hadn’t heard anything today 3rd February so phoned again. It took 15mins to speak to someone, I explained the previous phone call and she mentioned the medication review, I confirmed that then said I was still awaiting a message to confirm what the repeat test was. The message was sent to one GP who was off so until that. GP was back I wouldn’t get any answers. I then queried about another GP informing me but apparently that can’t be done???? Which to me seems a little bizarre. I then asked if a specific doctor has left and if I could have an appointment with her, I’ve been given a telephone appointment 23rd February. I have found myself putting off phoning the practice when I have an health concern because of how difficult it is to get an f2f appointment. Twice I have had to take letters from the hospital to the surgery because they say they haven’t received them and each time there has been nobody in the waiting room. A couple of the receptionists should not be answering the phone in my opinion. This review is not based on one event but a few things that have built up. It saddens me to feel this way about what used to be a fantastic surgery who have saved saved my life on more than one occasion. Please get back to doing what you once did without fault.

    I have only been registered here for about 3 years and never had any issues. I have had mostly telephone consults, only two face to face appointments, and the doctors so far have been friendly. I don't go to the doctor very often as I am a busy doctor myself, so the good things about this place are that efficiency of online services, dealing with my medication queries, the econsult and being able to have telephone consults very quickly, as due to work it is difficult for me to go face to face or ring up at 8am for everything like how GPs were pre-covid, so the online system is great. I have always had my issues addressed by the doctors here like tests, referrals, bloods etc. so nothing to complain about, it serves my needs as a busy young working professional. The nurses here are also very friendly. I would recommend this practice especially if you are busy in normal work hours or work in Manchester city. The only gripe is the parking for the Booth street branch, it is very difficult as there are only 2 or 3 roadside spaces. The city road branch is a lot easier to park.

    I phoned the surgery asking to speak with a doctor as I was in severe pain and was told I have to phone in the morning or phone 111, I have mental health issues and cannot guarantee I can be up at that time as my sleeping patern is all over the place, I got the feeling that I was a burden for phoning the surgery as I heard sying by the receptionist, I have been a patient for over 2 years and have yet to see a doctor in person, Its so difficult to get an appointment in the end I dont bover and suffer with the problem. Somthing has to be done with the recruitement and the system they have going on, very disappointing

    I've been part of this surgery for about a year and I've had to go in twice and both times everyone I've spoken to has been so kind. Each time I was very nervous going in and the nurse I had the first time talked me through everything and made me feel better. My doctor today was a lovely woman whom I previously spoke to on the phone, I'm not allowed to name her on here unfortunately but she was absolutely fantastic, kind and a great doctor. My partner has also had a great experience here with a male doctor who was also very kind and helpful. The receptionists are also very friendly!

  8. Review titled Practice gone down hill

    I've been a patient at the practice since it was set up some 20 years ago but it service has deteriorated considerably in recent years. Currently I am struggling to get the Practice to issue a prescription issued by the hospital despite repeated emails from both myself and the hospital and using the online system. I have also handed in letters but that didn't work either. I have now run out of medicine for the second time due to the practice not amending my prescription. When you actually get to speak to a Doctor or the Pharmacist they promise to sort things out but nothing actually happens.

    I had an appointment on 18th july at for a NHS health check, unfortunately i was sent a txt to say it was cancled and to rebook. On doing this the respionist that answered had a very bad attitued problem, straight away she answered the phone with"can i help",!. So giving the info that was needed i couldnt make the next appointment that was offered but yet i was treated like i was wasting thier time, no explanation of why it was canceled, and when i was explaining why i couldnt make the the time offered i got tutted at and with bad attitude and ignorant tone. This pratice has only gave me proper care maybe three times since i joined back in 2009 and now it seems nobody realy cares in that place and now i dont have a rebooked appoinment because i dont need to be treated like that. I will be seeking more advice on this matter of service, i think someone needs to come and assess how the service is ran, and much better training for the teceptionist i spoke to #veryanoyedand upset

    I have moved here four years ago and have a young family who have disabilities/predisposed to illness & need a lot of support from the GP practice. I am a lone parent and have found the surgery fantastic. On one occasion, staff even looked after my autistic child, who was having a meltdown, while I rushed another child in to see the GP. I consider us extremely lucky to have such a great practice and have recommended the practice to colleagues.
