Needed fairly urgent GP advice and got it on the same day. I have nothing but praise for this practice especially considering what pressure our GP’s are under. Thank you. I am so grateful.

My wife aged 77 arrived home at 3.30pm Friday from day out having had mug of very hot tea accidentally tipped over her in a restaurant scalding her forearm and leg. Despite first aid at the restaurant, blisters larger that postage stamp were now forming on her arm. My wife was shocked, hurting, and trembling and in no condition for long wait in A&E, so at 3.45pm I rang Surgery and asked if a doctor might ring back with advice on best thing to do. The receptionist suggested ringing 111, but when I explained my wife's condition she said a Dr would ring back. Dr rang back within ten minutes and said to bring my wife over for 5.10. Dr examined her and called in practice nurse who dressed the area and provide a supply of dressings and a further appointment the following Monday.

Rang the surgery and asked to speak to the triage doctor 08.15. Receptionist lovely. Feeling better already. Called back by triage doctor 08.20 (who happened to be my personal doctor, a one in three chance). Feeling even better. Seen at the surgery 10.00 by my personal doctor (again a one in three chance). Received reassurance and prescription sent to my local pharmacy. Feeling more better still. Rung by my local pharmacy to tell me my prescription was ready for collection 10.59. Unfortunately, Asda Man due 11.00-12.00, so process delayed an hour. Perhaps I shouldn't report this, because everyone will want to join this practice.

I have had cause to use the GP services several times over the past 5 years and I cannot praise the team highly enough. From the reception staff who are attentive and helpful, through to the ANP's and practice nurses who are so knowledgeable and reassuring, to the GP's who work so hard to see as many patients as they can within the confines of the slots available. I find the triage service works very well - a quick call to the reception team and they ask the GP to call you back - you get to explain the issue to the GP who decides who you need to see and how quickly and books you in. So reassuring to have the opportunity to speak to the GP in this way. Also - to be able to order repeat prescriptions via telephone or NHS app is so easy and convenient. I feel very lucky and privileged to be a patient in this excellent practice. Thank you all for your care and compassion in what must have been (over the past three years) and what must be very difficult current circumstances.
