  1. Review titled Reviews will be "Good" or "bad"!

Rated 5 stars out of 5

I phone for a general query, after 1000hrs, and I am fifth in the queue! After ten minutes I have moved to one in the queue. After thirty minutes of guidance from the individual my call is finished. So I took up over forty minutes to have my queries answered, meanwhile, I am sure others were in the queue wondering what was taking them so long to answer. They have a thankless task which will never serve everybody's expectations!

  2. Review titled Great practice, but…

Rated 5 stars out of 5

I have no complaints at all with Clevedon Medical Centre. However, based on my own personal experience, there is one aspect I think should be improved. I have regular 6-monthly PSA blood tests and never know when the best time is to book. On one occasion I have been told I’m too early and to try in a couple of weeks, and on other occasions I’ve been told I’m too late (although I was eventually found slots through cancellations.) My starting point is always when I’m given a date from Weston Hospital for a phone consultation. Once I know that date, I try to book my blood test for about a week prior to that consultation, but I can sense the reception staff struggling to find me a slot, no matter when I call, which I always aim to be 3-4 weeks before my consultation. If this aspect the the service could be improved, it would be of help to me and perhaps others too.

  3. Review titled Terrible service

Rated 1 star out of 5

I rarely use this surgery. However everytime I try the receptionist are unhelpful. I was told today to walk and find help from pharmacy even though I'm in pain. The answer is always call back tomorrow at 8.30 am when you do you've missed all the allocated slots. Old fashioned, unhelpful, outdated, push you to call 111. The service is a waste of time and money

  4. Review titled Shamefull Apointments System

Rated 1 star out of 5

12:00 15-Aug Phone for a doctors appointment. All appointments slots booked. Told phone at 08:30 tomorrow. 08;35 16-Aug phone busy. Some minutes later Phone busy. Finally and nearer to 09:00 I drove to the Centre. Told all appointment slots booked, try tomorrow at 08:30. Tried booking on the Web, first available booking was in 24 days time. This Centre operates a system suited to their own convenience with total disregard to the requirement or needs of the patients. A disgrace to what should be a health service.

We are sorry that you feel that our appointment service is unhelpful. As with all areas of the NHS current demand is constantly in excess of the capacity we can deliver within the funding we are given, but we work extremely hard to ensure that we offer increasing numbers of appointments with an ever increasing range of clinical staff within that funding. Currently we offer in excess of 2000 appointments each week. For a range of ailments, medication issues and Muscular Skeletal problems, we offer same day (and some pre-bookable) telephone and face to face appointments with our minor illness team, our pharmacists and / or our first contact physios. If a health issue does not fit in the above categories and is deemed to be urgent than we will always offer a same day appointment with our Duty GP. If the issue is not felt to be urgent for that day they we offer a range of same day face to face and telephone appointments which are available on a first come, first served basis from 8.30am. We also offer pre-bookable on-line face to face and telephone calls for 2-3 weeks in advance. If none of the above are suitable then we would encourage patients to use our E-Consultation service on the website which guarantees a response within 48-72 hours, and if, in reviewing the consultation the GP decides that a face to face appointment is needed, this will be arranged by our triage team.

Dear Mr Fordham We are sorry that you felt frustrated by being unable to book a consultation to discuss you results in advance. When requesting bloods for a patient the GP will advice our reception staff if a review consultation is required. Where a GP does not request this then it is their decision to wait until the results are back before deciding if a follow up consultation is required - or if they can inform the patient of next steps via a text or by telephone. In such cases the reception staff are requested not to make review appointments until the results of the tests are back and have been reviewed by the GP. Thank you Clevedon Medical Centre

  6. Review titled Very good experience

I observed great kindness and patience from a nurse in treatment room and an extremely kind receptionist. I also had my knees injected with (so far) great result.
