  1. Review titled Getting an appointment as a disabled person is impossible.

Rated 4 stars out of 5

Hi. Just tried to book an appointment to see a GP. I have heart failure so I don't wake up until 9am at the earliest. I don't start functioning as a human being until 2pm. I called to make an appointment only to be told I have to call at 8.30am. When I explained my situation, all I got was, after much to and fro-ing with Antony's manager, try calling at 9am! So no 'reasonable adjustments' are to be made for disabled people. Isn't that against the Discrimination Act? So I'll try at 9am tomorrow. What's the bet all the appointments are gone and I get told to call at 8.30am and I explain all this again only to be told...'Call at 9am' when they know the appointments will be gone by then. How do I see my GP if I'm disabled?

Sadly over the last two years the surgery has been poor on answering the phones with long answerphone message which is tedious and not necessary, I have spoken and tried another surgery in Seaford who answered the phone within a few rings , I have found it hard to get an appointment and as an ex cancer patient the delays in referrals are awful, I do not want to be seen by Brighton and it is my right to go to the previous consultants , still no blood tests and still no appointment for diagnosis ,

We are sorry that you have had difficulties in contacting the surgery and with the local referrals process. We have now had our new telephone system installed which is getting very positive feedback from our patients. If you would like to discuss you referral please contact the surgery and ask to speak with Yvonne who will be able to help you.

  4. Review titled A Caring and Friendly Practice

Rated 5 stars out of 5

I don’t need to visit the surgery often , but needed to recently. After reading so many NHS horror stories , I was pleasantly surprised . I was greeted by a very friendly receptionist and took a seat on the few well spaced chairs . My appointment was on time and my doctor was very caring and thorough . I felt I was safe and in very good hands . Then I had blood taken by a lovely warm nurse . Overall I feel grateful to have such a kind team taking such good care of me . A huge thank you .
