    I was worried about a change in a mole on my back so I visited the surgery where I was told a doctor would be in touch. Within half an hour I had spoken to a doctor by phone and an hour later I had been seen. Fortunately the change is benign. To be seen so quickly is fantastic. Thank you very much.

    I have been going to this surgery for roughly 10 years and I have never been so upset with the customer service I have received. The receptionist was dismissive and rude. I have called the surgery the last 3 days to get an appointment with the doctor as I have been struggling to eat, drink, sleep and even sometimes talk and breathe due to swollen tonsils. Each day I have been told all call back appointments have been taken and to call again tomorrow. Today I called and didn’t get an answer so requested a call back. As that took a while, I called back again and was then added to the queue of callers. As I was in the queue of callers, I also received a call back from the receptionist. I left the queue to answer the call back. After answering the phone, the receptionist told me there were no more appointments and was told “well that will happen if you request a call back instead of waiting in line” in a rude tone. I let her know that I was actually in the queue when she called. She then responded with “well that’s quite selfish to be trying to get through to us two ways isn’t it”. I was appalled with this comment. Considering I have been trying to get through for the last three days, I do not think trying to get into contact with them two different ways is so wrong. This receptionist has always been standoffish and hardly accommodating but today she was also dismissive and disrespectful, leaving me yet again without the correct treatment. I now have to leave the city without treatment as I have planned to go away. I am severely upset and will be changing GPs as this is not the future service I would like.

    So grateful to be a patient at a GP practice that has an extremely efficient appointment system. Since covid the way you book appointments has changed and it’s most definitely been for the better. Gone are the days where you wait for up to a week to be seen. Now you call, you talk to a helpful receptionist, you get booked in for a phone appointment then if needed the doctor will arrange to see you face to face. On one occasion I was seen within half an hour of having my telephone appointment and on another got an appointment the next day. You really can’t ask for more than that. One of my appointments led to a referral and I was so impressed with the process and the timescales met. Following my phone call to the surgery I received an appointment and referral that day. I then had a scan, a GP call giving results and an appointment with a consultant all within 10 days. Brilliant service. I am able to compare the service at this surgery with other local surgeries as I work with vulnerable people and often have to call their GP’s on their behalf to make appointments and a typical call will result in holding for 45 mins just to speak to an off hand receptionist who gives you an appointment for a week later. You explain the urgency but no interest shown and they continue to suffer with their ailment for a week. Hope Blackfen Medical Practice continue with the system that clearly works. Thankyou

    Had to have appt and I cannot rate them highly enough, Reception staff were extremely polite and helpful and could not fault the Dr. Referral done whilst there and appt received within 3 weeks, great service.

    Called in the evening to chase a prescription that had not been sent when I was told it had been. Called at 6.15pm and was put on hold until 6.30pm (when the surgery shuts) and then the phone was picked up and put down on me. It takes several attempts to contact this surgery by phone and often long hold times. Rude reception staff.
