Rang because my daughter was in agony with ear-ache. Told No appointments. The receptionist had no empathy at all. Ended up at Urgent care centre, ( staff here was friendly, caring & helpful.) My daughter was sent to QMC suspected quinsy, ended up staying in over-night, treated with steroids, fluids, antibiotics. Twice now not been able to get an appointment at this practise, staff seem unhelpful & sadly don’t seem to care. I’m looking into moving Dr’s as soon as possible.

  2. Review titled Absolutely hopeless

Where do I begin my tale of woes of trying to get peri-menopause support through this practice? I will say from the outset that it’s practically impossible to get an appointment. And even if - by sheer dogged persistence - you finally manage to get one, there’s no guarantee the doctor will keep it. For example, my doctor has missed a two telephone appointments in the last week: I was told the doctor would call “in the morning” on Thursday which I waited for, but they didn’t call until the afternoon by which time I was at work and not available. Then I was told they would call “on Monday” but they didn’t call at all. At the beginning of this peri-menopause journey last autumn I turned up for an appointment only to discover it didn’t exist - despite having previously made said appointment in person with the receptionist. It turned out they had never actually booked it for me. In recent months I have been so desperate to get an appointment that I have actually gone to queue outside the practice in person for opening time, knowing there will be absolutely no chance of getting through on the phone. Clearly others have resorted to the same approach as when I arrived 15 minutes before opening I was already sixth in the queue. The only person who was successful in getting an appointment on that occasion was the first person in the queue, who had - she said - been waiting there since 7.00am in sub-zero temperatures. On another occasion I called the practice to request an appointment to discuss my recent blood test results. The receptionist told me I was “not allowed” to see a doctor to discuss my blood test results. After some persistence she agreed to check with the doctor and the doctor eventually conceded that an appointment would be acceptable. I really don’t know how you would discuss next steps following blood tests without an appointment?! It’s over 6 months since I started this journey of trying to get peri-menopause support through my GP and I’m no further along than when I started. I cannot actually describe how totally and utterly broken the system is.

Receptionist was polite and catered to my needs. She went above and beyond for me. I need a review for hayfever medication but need a blood test before I can have it. She got me a next day blood test to help me. Thank you

I waited 3 weeks for an appointment, I had it confirmed by email. I turned up and surgery was closed (asserts farm) and it turns out it was a phone appointment, so waited and waited and phoned the surgery and was 1st in the queue for 45 mins , the receptionist told me the doctor had phoned twice but the doctor phoned me on my old number after I had informed them of the change. Then she told me my number and now waiting for the doctor to phone agin!!! Not impressed!!!

Had to make an appointment with a doctor urgently and was able to see one within an hour of calling which I was impressed with.

I see my Gp no not bad , but how to see my doctor through appointment is very big hurdle. Time length is so long, by the time you got the appointment is too late

Quick efficient and punctual. Nurse explained the reason for my blood test and how long it would take for the results.

  9. Review titled Awful wait times

I pre booked an appointment 4 weeks ago for my daughter. We were left for 1 hour in the waiting room, no explanation or reason for the lateness. If we were 10mins late for an appointment we wouldn’t have been seen. This is why there is so much pressure on the NHS because GP practices are an absolute joke.
