    Awful service. Called to make an appointment and I was told I need to wait almost 2 weeks for a phone call with the GP!! Anyone who needs a GP appointment needs it ASAP not 2 weeks later!

    Good Afternoon, Our next available routine appointment is currently next week (today is the 2nd and the next available is the 9th) and we have a range of telephone and face to face appointments available. If you have requested a specific GP, this may impact the wait time as some GP's get booked up quicker than others and some don't work the same amount of days as others. GP annual leave may also factor into this. We also have emergency appointments for the same day so if a medical issue is triaged as being urgent, it would be dealt with the same day by the on call GP.     Can never get an appointment with the GP when you need an appointment. Receptionists think they are health experts and can tell if you need an appointment or not. Half the time you don’t want to discuss your actual health problem with someone who works in an admin role. And then they give you health advice which they are not trained to do like go to the pharmacy and buy this to treat this etc. had an appointment booked as a follow up from hospital last week for today 22/08/2022 to not receive the phone appointment. Called receptionist and she said oh looks like it hadn’t been booked in the system nothing we can do: try calling at 8am tomorrow morning and we can try get you an on the day telephone appointment. It’s disgusting.

    Hi Kelly, I am very sorry to hear of your above experience with the surgery. In regards to our reception/admin staff, they are all trained to follow procedures put in place by the GP's and are all trained in care navigation which is why they may ask questions about the reason for patients calls so they can make sure everyone is directed to the most appropriate health care professional. All of our staff are bound by confidentiality and are following GP guidance when asking triage questions. In regards to your appointment error, if you would like to contact me to supply a few more details, I can then investigate following the practice complaints procedure and see what has happened.
