  1. Review titled A truly lovely nurse

Rated 5 stars out of 5

by Anonymous - Posted on 09 April 2024

I have just had an appointment with the most wonderful person, she is a nurse, she took the time to explain in detail what she was going to be doing beforehand, she made sure I was happy before, during and after my consultation, she explained about results and made sure that I knew I could call back if I didn’t feel well. My appointment was towards the end of the day but she didn’t rush me through. I felt she went above and beyond to ensure my experience was a positive one. She had the most caring nature and is an absolute asset to the practice. I just wish I could name her but she knows who she is and she deserves recognition for an outstanding service.

  2. Review titled Doctor Call Back

Rated 1 star out of 5

by Anonymous - Posted on 30 April 2024

I called the doctors as I can never get a slot online which they advise to do. I spoke to the receptionist regarding my issue and she advised a date and time for a call back. It now seems I misheard her as I thought it was a week after I called when in fact now waiting for a call I rang to see if I was still getting this call and was told it was another 2 weeks for the call. This now means that to receive a call from my doctor that would take 2 minutes, I have to wait 3 weeks. Surely this cannot be right? I don't need a sit down appointment just a 2 minute call. Just shocked.

  3. Review titled Unable to get an appointment

Rated 2 stars out of 5

For 4 weeks I have been trying to get an appointment to see a doctor or a phone call. The slots are fully booked up now until the end of May which I find very disturbing!

  4. Review titled Medication request not actioned

Rated 2 stars out of 5

by julie hoare - Posted on 26 March 2024

I ordered a prescription on March 15th asking for a repeat of medication I had been prescribed the month previously. I added the note to my normal prescrion order on the practice repeat order system. I have not received any notification about this so called the practice on March 24th to check the status of it. I was told it hadn't been actioned and it would be done that day and the GP would be informed that I was chasing it. I've gone to the chemist today to pick it up and it hasn't been actioned. I have now been informed by the GP practice that it will take a couple of days to be actioned in the meantime I have now run out of the medication. It is not helpful to patients when we try to support the practice by not taking appointments unnecessarily when the system then works against us and despite giving ample time for something that would seem relatively straightforward doesn't get done. I would not be asking for this medication if I did not need it. The medication is Mirtazapine 15mg

Dear Julie Hoare I am sorry you did not receive the service you were expecting from our Practice. Unfortunately your medication was not a repeat prescription so was dealt with separately to the rest of your request. I understand this issue has already been resolved, but do apologise for the delay you encountered. Thank you for taking the time to raise your concerns and I confirm that we have fed back to our team to reduce the likelihood of this occurring again. Abbey House Medical Practice

  5. Review titled Great practice

Rated 5 stars out of 5

by Parsons - Posted on 31 January 2024

Swapped to practice in October as could never see a gp at my previous surgery, the practice has been great. I called 30/01 for an appointment at first told no appointments but then offered one with Students overseen by a GP, had a thorough examination, full discussion about my health, great experience. Good luck to the next generation of doctors.

  6. Review titled Unprofessional

Rated 1 star out of 5

by Windsock - Posted on 30 November 2023

Used their on line messaging service and hand delivered letters to the Practice Manager. All totally ignored without any response whatsoever. I’d suggest you employ the services of a medium to contact this dysfunctional practice.

Dear Windsock I'm sorry if you feel our communication has fallen short of your expectations. You were sent a text message following receipt of your complaint, then subsequently a letter was also posted to your home address after our investigations into your concerns were complete. If you have any further issues you feel remain unanswered, then please contact us via your preferred method. Regards, Abbey House Medical Practice

  7. Review titled Lovely nurse

Rated 5 stars out of 5

by Amanda - Posted on 07 August 2023

We spoke to a nurse recently as we had left our travel vaccinations rather late and this particular nurse went above and beyond to help us. There are six of us in our family so the vaccinations would have been extremely expensive at a pharmacy so thank you for the lovely nurse who has managed to fit us in and helped us get our vaccinations for peace of mind during our upcoming visit to Thailand. My anxiety is now a little less knowing we have been able to have the vaccinations.

  8. Review titled Age 76 with copd and can not see a doctor

Rated 1 star out of 5

by Debra williams - Posted on 21 September 2022

Shocking treatment . My my is age 76 with COPD, she has a chest infection and can not get a face to face appointment . Rang at 8.15 this morning , now 7.15 and no call back. Already very weak as lost over 1 stone in weight , yet they tell me she is on the urgent list. I dread to see how long a bone urgent appointment would take . I really think that they need to sort this out. Debra Williams.

  9. Review titled Receptionist rudeness

Rated 1 star out of 5

by Brenda Mills - Posted on 16 September 2022

The way my husband, who is recovering from a recent unexpected heart attack, was spoken to by the receptionist at Monksfield surgery on 15th September was disgraceful. He had a query about his medication that could have been sorted out quickly. Her attitude was uncaring, abrupt and dismissive - to the point of being rude and caused unnecessary stress to an already very stressful situation. The problem has not been solved as to date no response has been received to emails sent the same afternoon. My husband is worried and needs to have his medication queries sorted out quickly.

Dear Mrs Mills Thank you for your feedback. I understand that your husband had a response to his e-mail the following day after he sent it, which sorted out his medication queries. We state on our website that e-mails are for non urgent matters only, and the Secretary was actually on leave that week (her out of office automated response was generated to advise him of this). We can't usually guarantee such a speedy response, but I am pleased we were able to help him with his queries the following day. I am sorry your husband found our Receptionist's attitude uncaring; she is a long standing, professional member of staff who does not usually display the the mannerisms described. Upon investigation, we have a witness who states she remained polite throughout the conversation and advised him to call one of our other Secretaries. I understand your husband has been given details of how to escalate his complaint further if he remains unhappy with our response. I hope this reassures you of our best intentions and we hope to continue to provide a good service to you both in future. Best wishes Abbey House Medical Practice

  10. Review titled Very poor service

Rated 1 star out of 5

by Anonymous - Posted on 01 September 2022

Extremely difficult to get a face to face appointment even when obviously necessary and urgent- required to have telephone appointment first but not given a time window . If phone call from Dr missed this has caused a significant problem.

Dear Anonymous, I'm sorry if you were not given a time frame for your telephone call - we do offer this for routine appointments. If you were in need of an urgent appointment, then our Duty Doctor triages same day requests in order of urgency, along with seeing patients face to face, therefore it can be difficult to predict an accurate time for your call. If you would like to contact one of our Management Assistants, they will be able to look into your specific concerns and provide you with feedback. Thank you for taking the time to comment, Abbey House Medical Practice
