Review titled They make their fees up as they go along

I was interested in booked in to see their consultant in regards a tooth implant. I looked on their website and it stated "prices start at £1999". I called them to discuss cost etc and was told that the cost of a straight forward implant would be £2500, so an increase of £500 from what they state online. I went ahead and booked a consultation at a upfront fee of £90 I believe it was and was told I'd need a 3d X-Ray done at a cost of £57 as well, so that the consultant could see if I was able to have an implant. I did this and paid both fees. At the consultation I was then told I would need a CT scan at a cost of £150 so that the consultant "could see what he was dealing with". He didn't mention there being any issues at that time and seeing as my tooth was at the front of my mount, you would have thought it would be the easier of teeth to do, but he then said the cost would be around £3000... so another £500 increase on the online price. I emailed the next day as I was unhappy with the service and confused why I was being charged as much as I was for the tooth and why I was made to pay for two scans when really I only needed the £150 CT one. I received no reply so I called them and was told the manager would call me back to talk over my concerns with me. That was two weeks ago and still no call. They'll probably increase the cost by another £1000 by the time I get to speak to someone....

This practice no longer had any NHS dentists. They cannot retain them for whatever reason. Due to the lack of NHS dentists the practice offered me a plan to bridge the gap between NHS and private prices.... or so I was told. After hearing how the checkups were only 20 percent more than NHS checkups a signed up. Found out the hard way that treatment prices are up to 7 times more expensive than NHS and on par with private prices at other practices. As nowhere local has NHS spaces I will now be travelling 50 miles to have the work done and it will still save me 600 quid! This practice shouldn't be on the NHS website as they are not doing any NHS work for adults.

The treatment we received from all at the surgery was first class. The reception staff very efficient and courteous.Dentist and dental nurse working as a team very professional. They put us both at our ease and explained everything to us. Felt that the Covid precautions that were in place were spot on, felt very safe.

Reception staff and Dentist always so friendly and welcoming. Treatment I have had in the past has been excellent, even during COVID lockdown when I had a problem, the Dentist phoned me and got it resolved. Today there was no waiting, my appointment was on time I had an issue with a couple of my teeth, and the problem was quickly diagnosed and treatment recommended was explained really well, giving me total confidence. I am more than happy with the practice.
