  1. Review titled Excellent!

Rated 5 stars out of 5

I needed an implant. This was completed in Aug 2023. I found this company, including the dentist, to be friendly, efficient and reassuring. The premises were squeaky clean and I paid "up front" and received a discount and the dentist noticed that a filling needed completing before the implant could go in. My local dentist had not noticed this. Everything is "in house" and all modern equiptment seemed to be available. My only critisism - this dentist is in Bursledon and I live in Romsey - Smilemakers must move neared to me.

  2. Review titled Unhappy client

Rated 2 stars out of 5

On 17/1/23 I attended an appointment for a route canal treatment total patient cost given to me was £695. I agreed to this believing this was the total cost. I am satisfied with the treatment given. I rang this morning to see when my crown would be fitted in order to complete my treatment to be told there would be an extra charge of over £400 or £280 nhs crown. At no time was it made clear there would be extra charges. I am disappointed and surprised at the way this has been handled as I was led to believe the total cost to be £650 £695

We are very sorry to read your review of Smilemakers. We looked into this with immediate effect on receiving your email dated 1st March and contacted you the following morning (less than 12 hours). The consent form signed does advise that additional treatment may be necessary following the treatment you received. We apologise if you do not feel your clinician made you aware of additional fees. Will be sure to speak with the clinicians involved. To my understanding you are happy with the response received from us, however do feel free to contact the practice should you have any further questions. Hopefully this misunderstanding does not reflect on the service of which you have received from us for many years. We look forward to seeing you again soon.

  3. Review titled I was charge extra

Rated 2 stars out of 5

Very unprofessional approach to the client.I paid £ 65 for the consultation and the dentist only took a picture of the tooth. He prescribed me an antibiotic and at the reception I was told that I had to pay extra for the photo of the tooth and for the antibiotic.I am asking if it should not be in the £ 65. And the receptionist said that I haven't been to them for a long time and I have to pay. I replied that I called several times to make an appointment but there was a pandemic and there were difficulties getting in, so I had to seek help elsewhere.

We are sorry to hear that you were not happy with the service provided. This has not been bought to our attention directly, therefore we would like the opportunity to discuss this further with you as we take all feedback seriously. Our practice has been fully operation since 29th June 2020. Although we had a slightly different system in place, patients that requested appointments via telephone or email were provided with one. Patients registered under the health system and not seen for a set period are informed. They are given a notice period of which we allow them to book and remain a patient. Should we not hear from a patient we have to presume that they no longer wish to remain a on our register and remove them from the system. This allows for new patients to join us under the health system. We do not have the capacity to see non-registered patients in an emergency, therefore patients that call on the day are given the options and costs BEFORE booking so that you can make an informed decision to book or not. We offer patients that are not registered the opportunity to be seen by a dental professional the same day for a basic fee of £65.00. Treatment and antibiotics are charged at an additional fee. Patients that are seen as an emergency are given a diagnosis and options. We then proceed as per a patients wishes. I would kindly ask that you contact the practice should you have any further concerns as we are not able to appropriately deal with your concerns on this platform.
