  1. Review titled A Dental Implant Recommendation

Rated 5 stars out of 5

Before the year ends, I just must recommend my dentist to everyone reading dental reviews here. This is especially true if you are looking for dental implant reviews. In leaving this review on this NHS website you are not allowed to mention anybody by name, which slightly waters down my content but i'll do my best. I’m one of those people who does not part with money without thoroughly researching any subject myself before splashing out the cash so to speak. I actually enjoy doing this and think because I do enjoy it, it makes for a far more positive result when drawing my own conclusions, if this makes sense - I hope you’re still with me on this! So you will be pleased to know I have done my research over two years ago on the above topic and armed with five locations, ended up choosing the Principal Dentist and Implantologist at North Hill Dental in Colchester. A great Dentist, he actually has two locations in the town, his original on North Hill and his second at Layer Road which has recently undergone a major renovation. All of which does not make a person automatically more skilled at his or her profession, but in this, my recommendation, I have never met anybody more professional than he, polished and proficient, dig out all the synonyms you can think of and he absolutely measures up to them. A thoroughly nice guy as well, you cannot feel anymore safer in his hands especially when undertaking implant surgery. It’s 5 stars all round as the staff at both locations score 5 stars as well. And that’s it; this review being long overdue, don’t hesitate phoning 01206 570381 You will not regret it ever!

  2. Review titled No time for NHS patients!

Rated 1 star out of 5

My appointment was cancelled at the beginning of July for the appointment I was going to attend later in the month. I was given a new appointment for September but of course have received another text message to say my appointment has been cancelled yet again and to call the surgery to reschedule. I tried doing this 6 times either being held in a queue or just being cut off to start the process again. I eventually got through on the 7th attempt. The first thing I was asked was:- am I a NHS patient or private. I was then told the same reason for my appointment being cancelled, which was that my dentist had left the practice. Even though I was given the same dentist as before that had supposedly left in July. I challenged the answer and was told, that I would have to look for another Dentist or pay Private. I preferred the surgery before the major facelift and overhaul, since the work has been completed the level of service has dropped considerably. I shall be looking for a new surgery:-((

Dear patient, Thank you for your feedback. I'm really sorry to hear that you have had several issues with booking an NHS appointment after cancellations. Please contact the practice and ask for the practice manager, Stephanie, to discuss this further and get your appointments booked. I have raised these issues with the team to ensure that the correct information is being given to our patients. Our NHS patients are just as important as our private patients. The only difference is the availability of appointments as NHS appointments are very limited due to the number of NHS patients versus the available appointments. We have had to cancel appointments as one of our NHS dentists has finished his Foundation training with us, and now has moved on, but we do try to prioritise the cancelled appointments where possible, but I can understand that this has not been managed for you. We have taken on a new NHS dentist that is working Saturdays so please contact us and we can get these appointments booked in. Please accept my sincere apologises for the inconvenience caused and I hope that we are able to learn from our mistakes and do better in the future. Thank you for your understanding. My children again have had their check up appointments cancelled (I’ve lost track of how many times I have a received a text message on the day to cancel) takes another three months to get a new appointment which I’m sure when rebooked will be cancelled again due to them being NHS. It’s shocking that in this day and age my children dental care is not a concern for this practice. This surgery is all for the private patients and the money
