    The back and fourth between the orthodontist and dentist. We saw the orthodontist who said they would not start treatment until a baby tooth was out. We did this and went back only to be told that 2 adult teeth need to be removed and we were referred back to the dentist again. I feel it only needed 1 referral and the dentist could have taken the baby tooth and adult teeth out at the same time. This process only has wasted 3 months and we still have started treatment for the braces ?

We completely understand your frustration and appreciate that making return visits when you feel it is unnecessary can be frustrating and time-consuming. Unfortunately as you have sent feedback anonymously we are unable to comment specifically on your situation however, we can explain the broader and general procedures we adopt. We are wondering if perhaps you visited us a New Patient for an Orthodontic Assessment, where we identified baby teeth present that needed to come out regardless of the treatment plan we propose further down the line. Given our NHS Treatment Waiting List is around 18/24 months, our Specialists may suggest removing these as this can open space, change how the teeth/gums grow and develop and may determine a completely different plan of action. Then when you reach the top of our NHS Treatment Waiting List and return to see us for the actual treatment to be proposed, some 18/24months later, we can see what has happened in the interim period and how these changes affect the final treatment plan we propose to you. This may mean further extractions of adult teeth are required and sometimes it can even determine whether orthodontics are still necessary, given the space the extracted baby teeth should have created for adult teeth to come through differently. If this was not the case for you, we would really like you to get in touch so we can look at your specific case in more detail and follow up with the Orthodontic Specialist you are seeing here at Teethinline.     The actual dentist was lovely. The waiting period and the pre appointment to attempt to get patients to go private was ridiculous

    Thank you for reviewing your recent experience at Teethinline Newport Pagnell. We are delighted you found the specialist orthodontist lovely at our practice. We appreciate that the waiting time for an NHS Assessment Appointment is quite long however this is something that is beyond our control. Like many other specialist practices, we are inundated with patients needing an NHS Orthodontic Assessment but we only have a limited amount of NHS funding to assess and treat NHS Patients and this is what causes the delays. We try our best to see as many patients as we can but unless there is a significant change to the NHS funding allocated to us and other NHS Orthodontic Providers, sadly it is unlikely that NHS waiting times will reduce in the near future. We do tell patients about our self funded options as some patients really do not want to wait in excess of 18 months for treatment. However we are disappointed if you felt that there was pressure to consider this as it is truly not intended this way, it is just an option for your consideration. If you prefer to wait for NHS funded treatment that is absolutely OK with us. We will be in touch with you again as soon as we can to plan next steps.     Appointment on time Very thorough explanation and continued to check my son was comfortable whilst applying the brace, Reception team very friendly and knowledgeable.

    Really impressed with the result of daughter’s treatment. She’s got a beautiful smile and now her confidence is back. Many thanks to the Oldbrook MK Team, who were always helpful, friendly and professional. Would definitely recommend.

    The actual orthodontist has been fantastic. The issue I have is with the receptionist. She was very rude on the phone when I tried to rearrange an appointment that had been made 10 minutes prior and emailed to me. I called straight away to change it so we could attend during the schools holidays & I was met with a rather abrupt response.

This is not our normal standard and we will of course share your feedback with our reception team to make them aware of your personal experience. We are sure you appreciate that whilst we do try our best to help with specific appointment requests, our diaries are very busy and given many of our patients are of school age, it is impossible to see everyone specifically during school holidays.     Every time we come the service is excellent. Your staff are friendly and welcoming and make my daughter feel at ease. They have always explained each procedure and have always explained after care to her too..

    Friendly receptionist when I called to change original appointment dates. The lady who carried out the assessments on my son was very welcoming and engaged with both of us while carrying out her work.
