    It’s been 18months since our check up. They continually cancel our appointments saying they will rebook. They won’t even book my daughter an appointment. However, if we are willing to pay privately we can be seen tomorrow!!

    Dear Patient Thank you for your feedback and I am sorry for any inconvenience caused. Unfortunately, as this practice is already at maximum capacity for NHS patients, they are currently unable to offer you an NHS place. In some practices where we have no NHS appointment capacity, we do have alternative private options for patients to access dentistry, outside of the practices NHS contractual obligations.     I have never done this before and have taken almost a year to decide to do this. I had an awful experience at this practice following years of a steady decline in the quality of service. The dentist was unfriendly, unhelpful and upset and worried me so much that I became frightened to visit any dentist. Was told I would have to go private to be able to discuss any options or my future oral health. I have now gone private (no other option)with an entirely different dentist where I discovered what I had been told by the “unhelpful and downright unprofessional” dentist at my dentist Walkley was not in fact true. Actions or lack of them at this dentist have led to my needing treatment that could’ve been avoided and at a great deal of expense. I absolutely do not recommend this practice in any way.

    Never had a problem getting an appointment, even an emergency appointment for my children. Staff always polite, professional.

    I was due to have a check up when the very first lockdown happened in March 2020. I completely understand the pressure that followed, so no complaints there. But, as things are getting back to normal I was hoping I could be seen once again. I have now made 3 appointments since February and all have been cancelled. I have been told to ring again in December with no guarantee of an appointment. It will be over three years since I have been seen. My concern is that when I do finally get seen, problems that may have been avoided will now lead to additional treatment. What is happening? I am struggling to find another practice, so feel very let down. I have been a happy patient here for 25 years.

  5. Review titled Unusual Practice?

    I have tried several times to get an appointment at this practice this year. Each time told the same story, your dentist is leaving in two weeks and we are recruiting a new one call back in 2 months. Well they must have some turn over of staff. I was told this in January, and in August and looks like other reviewers have been told the same in June. Just seems like they are trying to get rid of NHS patients?

    I had not been to the dentist for about two years due to lockdown, and when I phoned for an appointment I was told my usual dentist had left and was asked to wait until a replacement could be found. I was upset because my usual dentist was brilliant and I thought I would have to look for a new practice. However I had an appointment with my new dentist yesterday and she is brilliant; so nice, kind and professional. Very happy.
