Having been enquiring about dentists who were accepting NHS Patients I received an e-mail from My Dentist at 15:11 on a Friday afternoon stating that they "would be able to accept you on the NHS. Please call to register" I rang to register at 10:54 on the Monday to be told that the position had been given to somebody else. Quite obviously they don't operate waiting lists in a professional manner as the position they'd offered me had then been given to somebody else within 4 hrs 43 mins of the offer being made and within their operating hours.

But now I go regularly. Like many people my age, I had a traumatic experience as a child with the school dentist. As a result, in my adult life, I would go for years and years without seeing a dentist and only ever went when I absolutely had to. Although I still don't like the thought of going, I do go regularly. That's because the practice I attend is do empathetic to my morbid fear of being there! I dread the clean and polish - I even hold my breath but I'm always told to relax and let them know if I want them to stop. In recent years I've been to the dentists more times than ever in my adult life ( and I'm 59!) and that's because they understand me do well and treat me with such care and patience.

I have visited the practice since it has opened as Mydentist and have always had a positive experience. All members of the team have been friendly and helpful. I have been treated by several dentists and all listened and explained things thoroughly. I have twice needed appointments when a crown fell off and, despite the practice being busy, staff did their utmost to fit me in to an early appointment and I was seen within a couple of days. I have always found my waiting time to be minimal and find being greeted by the dentist themselves at appointment an effective way of reducing any anxiety prior to treatment. The informal yet efficient atmosphere is also welcomed

I have used this practice for the last few years and for my past few sessions I have been seen by a very nice dentist. She was so friendly, professional and talked me through my treatment step by step. I am a nervous patient so this really put me at ease and I can’t thank her enough. The whole team are friendly and I recommend this dental practise to everyone (especially nervous patients).
