After suffering tooth pain over weekend .. rang practice early Monday morning to ask for emergency appointment. Was seen that morning and had the loose wisdom tooth removed. Thank you to the wonderful dentist for being so lovely and caring and putting me at ease …for straight forward and pretty painless extraction and thanks to the lovely Reception Staff who quickly gave me the appointment at a time to suit. Would recommend this practice in Hexham Northumberland. Thank you once again

  2. Review titled Absolutely applaud they are allowed to be open

Rated 1 star out of 5

I’m not normally one to leave reviews but on this occasion it was necessary. The audacity of the staff to laugh in my face after they refuse to refer me to another clinic because it’s not something they offer(When I have now spoke to other dentist and yes it is). When I mentioned that I had called and doubled checked with the desk they blatantly told me i didn’t, after waiting roughly about 6 months for an appointment and not to mention travelling over two hours on that day while 7 months pregnant isn’t exactly ideal. And after calling and speaking to a dentist in my area straight after this ridiculous appointment I was told it is something they can offer and they didn’t understand. And not to mention it wasn’t just the desk staff that had an attitude, the dentist herself wouldn’t even listen to me when I was explaining my history with my teeth she cut me off and said “Yeah okay but I can see that when I do an X-ray” then mentioned me having fillings in my teeth when i didn’t very concerning. I would rather pay private then go back, the whole time I was there I felt like an inconvenience and that is awful. For anyone needing an NHS Dentist look elsewhere it’s really not worth it.

  3. Review titled Zero people skills

Rated 3 stars out of 5

I was running late for an appointment due to temporary mobile roadworks (line painting) and tried calling to say so but could not get an answer. I was calling for 35 minutes as I knew it would be borderline for me being on time due to satnav ETA. I arrived approx 3 minutes late. The receptionist called through to say I had arrived and told the Dentist in front of me that 'apparently he tried calling, aha that's what he says'! Apparently? Not sure who the dentist is that I see but they have zero people skills. I took my son there too for his first every dental appointment and they looked in his mouth for 8 seconds tops, if that. No reassurance, no well done, no setting the scene. Same dentist that I see each time. Oh and the one in the other room that does scale and polish took the top of one of my teeth off, it fell off on the way home. I honestly cannot recommend this practice at all.

  4. Review titled Pretty awful

Rated 1 star out of 5

Firstly, reception staff, very welcoming and personable and friendly. Like someone else said in a review ‘it depends which dentist you get’. I used to have a lovely lady, sadly she left & twice now I have sadly been on the receiving end of the dentist who owns the practice...please take a course in relating to your patients because you have zero skills. Greeted me in the waiting room to collect me with ‘X....is it?’ Well at least make sure you have a persons name! My ‘check up’ must have lasted 5 mins if that...cut me off every time I attempted to explain issues with my teeth, no friendly banter, no eye contact, genuine interest in my health, totally robotic. Even pronounced what was likely wrong before she had looked in my mouth! Simply a conveyer belt, totally non-caring ‘process’, completely lacking in empathy & personal touch, I think you need a serious re-think.

  5. Review titled Worst customer service

Rated 1 star out of 5

by Anonymous - Posted on 29 June 2023

The level of customer service given at reception is next to none don’t expect a smile or conversation, the actual dentists are nice but are always late. Only dentist in hexham taking new patients and there’s a reason! Takes 2 months to get an appointment. Waiting room upstairs is an accident waiting to happen boxes piled high where there used to be a kids toy area looks awful.

  6. Review titled Great practice

Rated 5 stars out of 5

I am petrified of dentists and was really anxious about going. Due to moving and then the pandemic I hadn’t seen a dentist for a long while. Managed to get registered with this practice and so glad I did. The dentist was brilliant as was the dental nurse. The dentist put me at ease throughout. This is by far the best dentist I have ever been to.

  7. Review titled Friendly and efficient

Rated 4 stars out of 5

I went as a new patient, with some trepidation as I had read the reviews. I found the receptionist pleasant and helpful, and the dentist couldn't have been nicer. I was reassured by her friendly, caring manner.

  8. Review titled Without sympathy or understanding

Rated 1 star out of 5

If you are looking for a dentist who takes the fear and anxiety out of your visit then give this practice a complete body swerve! They say the welcome you get at any business gives you an overall impression of the service you receive. The receptionists barely look at you and God forbid you expect them to cease their personal conversation to speak to you. The dentist sat with her back to me while I tried to explain my problem and it was greeted with derision and disbelief to the point she even let out a huge sigh/huff!! I could not believe her attitude although in my year of appointments with her she has never come across as someone who puts nervous patients at ease, however, I gave her the benefit of the doubt on previous appointments. My overall impression is and has been that you are rushed in and out as quick as possible. Nothing personable about either the dentist or her reception team. Telling her I was anxious only served to make her bad attitude worse. On this occasion I left without my problem fully resolved as I couldn't wait to get out. I have since rung another practice and the difference, from one phone call, was palpable. Good luck if you choose to risk it!

  9. Review titled Awful

Rated 1 star out of 5

by Anonymous - Posted on 30 September 2022

I registered as a new patient and had my first appointment recently. I will never return. The dentist was so unsympathetic and to be honest rude!! She rushed the whole appointment and told me my teeth were ‘very bad’ I go to the dentist regularly and I have 4 fillings so I wouldn’t say they were horrendous. The whole place was so unprofessional she’s obviously just in it for the money not the patient care!!

  10. Review titled Depends which dentist you get

Rated 1 star out of 5

Having always seen the same dentist at this practice, I unfortunately had to see an alternative dentist this time due to absence of my usual excellent dentist. I was rushed in and out, given a cursory examination, and the dentist was decidedly abrupt. I do not want to see this dentist again!
