  1. Review titled Not suitable for wheelchair users

Rated 3 stars out of 5

by Vanessa - Posted on 19 March 2024

In spite of it saying it has disability access and disabled parking it does not. The parking is near by public parking. There is a steep ramp squeezed in at the entrance (which is at the back of the building) which I had to get out of my wheelchair to access & get through. The practice itself is so cramped negotiating it with a wheelchair is almost impossible. Might be an OK dentist for those who don't mind cramped, crowded, noisy waiting areas & don't need a wheelchair etc but not for those who have mobility issues or have sensory issues in such environments. As I am a wheelchair user I will never know.

  2. Review titled Does anyone ever answer the phone or email

Rated 1 star out of 5

My experience is similar to many others, the most recent call made I was No 15 in queue approximate wait 20 mins, got to No 2 and telephone went dead, rang again No 2 in queue 5 mins wait, hooray I thought until 20 minutes later when I reached No 1 the telephone went dead. I have emailed but still no response. I have been registered with them for nearly two years and had to wait one year to get an appointment for a check up. The only time I can ever speak to anyone is if I drive into Eastleigh and walk in the Practice; having said that when you do visit the Practice, the Dentists and admin staff are very pleasant. How are businesses especially those being paid by the NHS i.e. me and you allowed to get away which such appalling service? Perhaps they could arrange for one person to answer phones on specific days if they cannot afford to pay for a full-time person; of course, they would need to let us know which day to ring.

  3. Review titled They don't respond

Rated 2 stars out of 5

This practice is impossible to contact by telephone. The manager has told me this - he is too busy to bother having anyone on the phone lines. This tends to result in being sat on-hold with your call in "position number 1" in the queue and an automated message informing of "your estimated wait time is five minutes". It is not, on one occasion, it was 90 minutes before an automated message was played to say that the practice was shut. This is the same experience as both a private and NHS patient. This practice used to be quite good, it now provides a very poor service.

  4. Review titled Cancellations

Rated 1 star out of 5

Cancelled two appointments the day of appointments after receiving confirmation texts the day before. One appointment was a rescheduled one after I had my maternity appointment cancelled citing “the dentist is not longer doing exempt patients”. The second appointment was for my child’s first ever dental appointment that was made 10 months ago. Tried calling 6 times for explanation. Utterly disappointing

  5. Review titled Awful administration

Rated 1 star out of 5

The appointment I had to make a year in advance was changed without me being contacted. This happened to someone else who had an appointment at a similar time. I was more fortunate, because a cancellation meant I was seen within 20 minutes of when my appointment was meant to be. Both me and the other patient were talked to like our appointment was never at another time, and no apology was given. The receipt for the check up did not include all the information I need to claim the money back. I'm now considering going private. The only positive thing I can say is that the dentist themselves was helpful.

  6. Review titled Are they there??

Rated 2 stars out of 5

After taking a day off from work to attend an appointment for myself and my child, I'd received a text to say my appointment was still on. When we got there, there was no appointment. The manager of the practice then told us he was very stressed and not bothering to answer phone calls as he was so busy. So hadn't contacted us to say about our appointment. We were rebooked by the dentist in the end. When we went back for our rebooked appointment we turned up and sat down in the waiting room to hear a lady complaining about not being able to get through on the phone. Once again the manager told a customer he's "too busy" to answer the phone. The customer service here is appalling and should really be looked in to. At no point should you ever tell someone you can't be bothered to answer the phone. The practice used to be very well run but sadly it doesn't seem to be going well anymore.

  7. Review titled No good when you have no appointments !

Rated 1 star out of 5

This place books months ahead and will cancel your appointment the day before. You’re therefore lucky to see them every 2 years. They are taking new patients but next available appointment august 2023!! Ie 14 months away. Not acceptable is it ! They told us a few weeks delay to see new patients. Didn’t specify it was 60ish weeks !!
