    I am an NHS registered nurse who has worked in clinics before. Although I have never worked in a Dental Practice and have no experience in this field, I was appalled to have gone to this practice and not be seen. I was 20 minutes late, and when I arrived to the practice, the receptionists informed me that I’ve missed my time slot. When I arrived there was already a patient with the dentist and they told me that if I miss a slot, there’s nothing that they can do as they can’t book the emergency appointments. At the end of the day, I guess they were just doing their job. However I believe there should be an improvement to the service. As a nurse, I have never worked in an environment where a department has refused patient care for what ever reason, let alone in an emergency. The receptionists kept repeating ‘You were 20minutes late’. Yes I was. But no one plans to be late. I had an accident as I have suffered a miscarriage, I am currently on my way to A&E so I probably won’t be able to make another appointment today and it’s sad that these things are not taken into account. I understand that there is a policy in every work place, but where the environments Ive worked in is able to see any patient even if they are late by an hour to ensure that they receive the care they need, I believe that there is a lack of compassion in this specific dental service. It seems to be run like a business. I think people need to be reminded of the purpose of working in healthcare services

    I visited the Practice this morning 4/4 and found the Dentist and her team both Professional and friendly. I had two teeth extracted and was put at great ease.
