Tried to access urgent treatment at 7.30pm, stood in queue, receptionist ignored us for 10 minutes, then curtly asked is she could help, to announce 'they were full to capacity". Looking around there were twice as many staff than patients, with 2 hours before closing, she did not advise us of other centres where we could go for treatment. There were no notices at the entrance of the hospital explaining they were full and numerous staff saw us stood waiting. Why do you need 2 (two) receptionists when you are full? Even car parks have a sign at the entrance when they are full! We thought we must have been invisible whilst she tapped away on her computer. Calculating the salary cost of the many staff compared to patients treated, there is no doubt where the funding drain is for the nhs and with the attitude we received it is a shameful service, let us never forget that these staff are paid to serve and treat.
