I have been experiencing lower back pain and sciatic nerve pain since September. Finally got an appointment after being kept in Kings Mill Hospital at the Kirkby-in-Ashfield physio department. The assessment is not very thorough I was asked questions and did minimal physical exercise's. After this I was given 1 stretch for the nerve pain. Then told to think I’m not in pain.. Which is completely not beneficial to my symptoms.. I’m a very physical person in my work and regularly attend the gym and do yoga. I’m forever stretching to ease my pain and do everything I can do help my self feel better. Simply being told to think I’m not in pain is a complete disregard to the symptoms I’m experiencing. If I wanted to not be in pain and could simply think this away I would have done before now and wouldn’t need physio. The treatment offered here is not thorough enough and lacks attention to detail. There was no care offered in understanding or any form of plans in action to assist me. The next available appointment was in 7 and a half weeks time which is useless as everyday I’m experiencing this pain and it’s majorly affecting my day to day life. I understand the demand is high but the quality of care is a 0/10 I felt like the physio was simply ticking the box by seeing me. I’ve received treatment privately which I had too because my symptoms were so bad. Eventhough private is not affordable for me, I did this because the service is 10 times better and I needed the treatment to continue my daily life. I wouldn’t recommend the physio department at Kirkby-in-Ashfield to anyone. I think the department needs better services and better understanding of different conditions. I won’t be visiting again soon as it was honestly a big waste of my time.

  2. Review titled Very Poor Service

I was referred to the MSK in September. I received an appointment in January. I was asked to do a few things which were very painful and difficult so I was sent for xrays on my shoulders. I received a message in February saying they had my results and they would ring me on 18th March at a specific time. I teach so took time out of a lesson to take the call. It never came. I returned to my lesson. They did call but I missed it then due to my phone being on silent. I sent an email and tried to call them on my lunch break but after 30 minutes the call cuts off. No one answered. I received an initial response to my email saying I would need to make another appointment - how? They don't answer the phone! I have sent 3 more emails since, I have not received a response. I have spoken to my GP practice who say the results should be on my NHS app - they have not been uploaded. I still have no results. I have tried yet again today to ring and again after 30 minutes no response. Incredibly poor service - I will not be returning!
