Disrespectful. When does one ever address a complete stranger by first name? No empathy. When someone has just made it home from the ward give them time to catch their breath before you descend on them Rude Do not leave muddy footprints on every floor in the house for them to deal with Inadequate. If all you have to offer is with washing and dressing do not waste people's time any further if that is not needed. Patronising Some of us out here have brains and an education Do not dismiss older people as idiots out of hand Shocked by the attitude Lack of organisation I had four phone calls from this office before it sank in that I had cancelled the service before the first planned visit. Communication skills The last call was from someone I can only describe as 'rough' Not the right person to man a phone at all. I have contacted the hospital to warn them about making referrals to this team. They clearly have the mistaken impression it is of use. I was taken aback by the way I was spoken to by people from this team. Offering physio or time with an occupational therapist is only useful if recipients are absolutely clear what that entails. You have honestly left me with the worst possible impression of how older people are treated in this country. Worse still you probably think you are doing well. Think again.
