  1. Review titled Ward 27 great team work on the coal face

Rated 4 stars out of 5

by ADL Winstanley - Posted on 05 October 2022

Your Review: I was admitted to ward 27 in September 2022 and spent 2 weeks in the care of the nursing staff after I was diagnosed with pneumonia in both lungs, add this to my existing medical conditions of pulmonary fibrosis, rheumatoid arthritis and peripheral neuropathy and i was quite poorly and it probably took the first week to stabilise me as my temperature kept spiking at just under 40 degrees. I have a compromised immune system and I am classed as extremely vulnerable in the community so I have to be very careful that I do not catch any bugs or infections. I would just like to say that what I observed was a very poor staff patient ratio and the staff on the shop floor so to speak were run ragged and never had a minute from coming on duty to going off duty at the end of their shifts. The staff in the main responsible for my immediate care consisted of staff nurses, health care assistants, and housekeeping staff. It has probably been said many times before but I would just like to add my own comments. The care and commitment shown to me was of the highest standards and their patience and understanding especially when I was unwell and moody second to none. As I started to feel better I began to notice just how good the staff on ward 27 were considering they were understaffed and overworked and having to managed very poorly patients, difficult patients who became aggressive and argumentative in fact patients with all the problems and issues you can think of. So to all the staff at the coal face on ward 27 i salute you and thank you for never wavering or loosing heart and going that extra mile to make your patients feel safe and cared for by you. 2. Review titled Royal Shrewsbury Hospital

Rated 5 stars out of 5

by Frances Osborn - Posted on 29 August 2022

I had cause to attend the A and E department on Saturday 27th August before being admitted to the Pitstop department and eventually on to ward 26. I found the staff extremely caring, professional and very hardworking in all the departments. Nothing was too much trouble for the staff and the care I received was exemplary. We are so very fortunate to have this hospital and especially the staff who work in it under very trying and demanding circumstances. Please convey my thanks to all the staff for the care and attention I received. Frances Osborn (Mrs).

  3. Review titled Excellent maternity care

Rated 5 stars out of 5

by Hilary Mott - Posted on 28 July 2022

We recently attended the Telford Delivery Suite to have our second baby and were really impressed with the standard of care, as I have been with all of my antenatal and postnatal care in Shrewsbury and Telford. We were taken straight to a private room which was large, bright, airy and well equipped, and we stayed there throughout the delivery and the after care. The midwifes and healthcare assistants were brilliant and couldn't have been more helpful or supportive to both myself and my husband. I felt reassured knowing that the doctors were nearby should they be needed, but as it was the midwives were hugely capable and had everything under control. Thank you very much to all the hardworking professionals on the Shrewsbury and Telford maternity team!!
