  1. Review titled Disabled Parking

Rated 1 star out of 5

Having visited the hospital for the first time using my Blue Disabled Badge I was shocked at how extra hard a system can be made. To be able to forgo the payment you park then on leaving have to walk across the carpark to find the parking management building. He then stamps your card so that it will open the barrier for you to leave. For someone who has already gone through the procedure of accessing a diability badge (often a little embarrassing) then to have to go through this drama I was completely shocked. Surely things should be made easier for people who are already struggling not harder and more complicated.

  2. Review titled 8. Hrs wait in a&e

Rated 1 star out of 5

After waiting over 8 hrs to be seen by a Dr who immediately admitted me and had to wait another 12 hrs for a bed on a ward ...the nurses and Drs were amazing. I think in my opinion the community Drs need to start seeing patients again instead of a 4 week wait for a phone consultation and over 5 weeks to see a Dr why are they still blaming COVID ??

  3. Review titled Exemplary care

Rated 5 stars out of 5

I was admitted on April 4th as an emergency following an ecg at home. While travelling from my home in Scotland. My GP rang to tell me to go to the nearest A&E immediately. On arrival at Darlington aI explained the problem and was seen at once, given an ecg and sent straight to ICU in A&E and later admitted to a ward. After 24 hours of tests it was confirmed I needed a pacemaker and this was given to me the following day. All the staff were wonderful, particularly the cardiac team who were simply exemplary. I cannot thank them enough.

  4. Review titled Genuine care and compassion

Rated 5 stars out of 5

I attended the Colposcopy clinic at Shotley Bridge and found the staff to be very caring and considerate of my needs. It made such a difference to, what can feel, a very embarrassing situation.

  5. Review titled Excellent Treatment

Rated 5 stars out of 5

I attended Bishop Auckland hospital for a Colonoscopy as part of the Bowel Cancer Screening Programme and I was obviously very worried about having this sort of procedure and what the outcome might be. Every single member of the admin and medical team was friendly and reassuring (including my lengthy pre-assessment done by phone). Every step of what would be happening to me was patiently described (and checked for my understanding) and my options regarding sedation, pain relief etc carefully explained. After all my worrying the procedure itself was pain free and unremarkable. When I had a slight adverse reaction to the sedation I was immediately monitored constantly until I could be allowed to leave some time later. I felt safe at all times due to the care shown. I was very impressed by the whole process and the staff from start to finish. I am also grateful that here in the United Kingdom we have the luxury of the Screening Programme.
