  2. Review titled Compassionate care

Rated 5 stars out of 5

Absolute praise for the ED staff who provided excellent compassionate care for my husband yesterday. Despite another extremely busy day delivering emergency care the staff remained calm and highly professional in their approach. Their friendly demeanour helped to put us at ease. Thank you all so much.

  3. Review titled Professional and friendly

Rated 5 stars out of 5

I had the misfortune of having to bring my little girl to A&E on the night of 13 Feb /early hours of 14 Feb as she was very wheezy and breathless. After a short wait, she was triaged by a calm and friendly nurse. He then informed the duty doctor - who promptly assessed her and prescribed the treatment and told us the plan. Another nice female nurse came over and administered the medication. She made my daughter feel relaxed throughout. After a period of observation, we were allowed to go home with the meds and relevant discharge information. All in all, we spent about 3 hours there. I have heard horror stories about the current state of NHS hospitals (esp A&E) but nothing but praise and gratitude from me this time. I am not allowed to put any names down but you know who you are!

Once I was on the Consultant schedule, a minor hand surgery with local anaesthetic was conducted efficiently and effectively with good team work from each contributing team

  6. Review titled Brilliant NHS!

Rated 5 stars out of 5

by Caroline Jones - Posted on 09 August 2022

I am writing to express our sincere gratitude for our experience today in the testing department of ENT. My husband had attended for further tests following an acute vertigo episode. His clinician, was so lovely! Her history taking was thorough, explanations really clear and understandable, and the testing she carried out enabled her to identify a vestibular issue which, after more than seven weeks of dizziness was really difficult for my husband to deal with. He is now feeling more positive about the way forward and even more determined to make steady improvements. So, our heartfelt thanks to our amazing clinician. ( I would like to have named her, but was not able to do so due to hospital policy) All this , after a slow start following him attending A&E, when it became evident that his review appointment had not been arranged. Our thanks to the Appointments Hotline staff for ensuring that this was rectified. Well done NHS!!

  7. Review titled Lovely doctor

Rated 3 stars out of 5

I had a gynaecology appt today. Very little waiting time. The registrar immediately told me his name (this does not always happen) and made me feel completely at ease. He carefully explained everything to me and was very efficient and quick in carrying out a biopsy. Very impressed.

  8. Review titled Sincere Thank You

Rated 5 stars out of 5

I wish to give my sincere gratitude to the The Countess of Chester Hospital for the treatment I have received over recent weeks. Following an urgent X ray by my G.P. showing a mark on my lung I was sent to the A&E Dept. where I was treated very well. I was examined and told I needed a scan and would be passed over to the Respiratory Medicine Clinic for further treatment. I had my scan which revealed I had mesothelioma. The consultant and Lung Nurse in Respiratory Medicine were wonderful in their difficult task of informing me of my condition. To confirm the diagnosis I had a biopsy undertaken. The biopsy team were excellent in their proficiency and care as were the staff of the Cardiac Catheter Suite who looked after me as a day patient. I have now been referred to the Clatterbridge Cancer Centre for further treatment. Once again my thanks to all members of staff at Chester Countess of Chester Hospital who provided me with the care I received and the speed with which it was undertaken.

  9. Review titled Rude and Dismissive Doctors

Rated 2 stars out of 5

by Anonymous - Posted on 14 June 2022

Attended A&E with extreme back pain after calling 111 for advice. Even though 111 referred me to A&E I had to wait 10 hours only to get a doctor who was rude and Dismissive, Even before he checked my symptoms he told me "Back pain didn't warrant a trip to A&E!" After demanding to speak to a doctor who would take me seriously , another Doctor ordered an MRI after hearing my symptoms. where they found my disc had prolapse and had a annular fissure, with signs of degenerative disc disease! So It DID warrant a trip to A&E! This isn't the first time Doctors have been dismissive and condescending and it's not fair. Understandably there are people that go to A&E who probably don't need to be there. BUT they shouldn't treat everyone the same! It's bad enough when you're in a lot of pain and then get made to feel worse because you've gone to seek help!
