About Meclozine and how it works

This medicine helps prevent and relieve the symptoms of motion sickness. It belongs to a class of medicines called antihistamines. It works by blocking the actions of two chemicals called histamine and acetyl-choline which are involved in the body’s balance system inside the ear. In people who suffer from motion sickness, the body’s balance system becomes disturbed and causes nausea or vomiting.

This medicine is available in the form of tablets or chewy pastilles that are taken by mouth.

It is important that you take this medicine before you start travelling. You can either take it one hour before or the night before you travel.

Speak to your doctor if your symptoms do not improve or if they get worse during treatment with this medicine.
