About Abidec Multivitamin drops and how it works

This medicine is used to prevent vitamin deficiencies in infants and children. It contains a mixture of vitamins A, C, D, E and a variety of different B vitamins.

It is available as a liquid which is given by mouth using a dropper.

Speak to your child’s doctor if your child’s symptoms do not improve or if they get worse during treatment with this medicine.

Before using Abidec Multivitamin drops

This medicine may not be suitable for everyone and some people must never have it. Check the leaflet that comes with your medicine to make sure that the medicine is suitable before having it.

Always get advice from a healthcare professional before giving this medicine to a child who:

  • is allergic or sensitive to or has had a reaction to any of the ingredients in the medicine or to peanuts or soya
  • over 12 years of age
  • taking other vitamin supplements

Medicines interactions

If you are taking more than one medicine they may interact with each other. Before giving this medicine to a child consult your doctor or pharmacist if your child is taking or has recently taken any other medicines including vitamins, supplements and herbal or complementary preparations.

This medicine is not likely to cause any side-effects. If your child has side-effects or has any other worrying symptoms while having the medicine, seek medical advice.

Other important information

Make sure that you read the leaflet that comes with your medicine to check what dose you should give and if there is anything that you need to do if you give more than the recommended dose. If you are in any doubt about whether this medicine is suitable for your child, speak to your doctor or pharmacist.

You must dispose of the bottle and any remaining contents four weeks after opening it. It is a good idea to make a note of the date when you first opened it.
