Renin test

Introduction

A renin test is usually carried out in conjunction with an aldosterone test to determine whether the levels of these two hormones are normal.

If you have high blood pressure (hypertension) and low potassium, your doctor may recommend that you have a renin and aldosterone test.

After checking your renin and aldosterone levels, the most appropriate treatment for your high blood pressure will be recommended .
