Activities
Portico Nursery used Play Day as a way of reintroducing the circle and ring games from Play4Life. Games included ring-a-ring o'roses, oranges and lemons, and in-and-out the dusty bluebells.
The activities took place inside and in the nursery's outdoor woodland area.
Learning through play is a key element of the Early Years Foundation Stage, and is a means of assessing the children's learning and development.
Portico Nursery uses Change4Life as a way of keeping children healthy and developing skills for the future, one of the key outcomes of the Early Years Foundation Stage.
Reach: 22 children took part in the Play Day activities.
Resources used: Portico Nursery used empty belly posters to advertise the event within nursery. Leaflets were sent home with parents and available for them to pick up in nursery.
