Activities
Eagles Fitter Fans is a free 10-week programme set up by Crystal Palace FC Foundation in partnership with Croydon Health Services NHS Trust and Change4Life. It's aimed at men aged over 40 who would like to lose weight.
The programme aims to educate members about diet and nutrition, and uses football training techniques to improve their fitness. A pedometer challenge allows them to monitor their daily routine. Fans also get the chance to meet former CPFC players in Q&A sessions and to win a signed club shirt.
It builds a sense of community and support amongst the members, many of whom attend ongoing weekly sessions, for a small fee, after the initial programme has ended. A lot of the members also register with Change4Life which then enables an ongoing direct relationship with both them and their families.
The programme is promoted through the fan's website, Holmesdale.net, and in the match programmes. It's currently working with its fourth intake of members.
