Transcript of NHS Strength and flexibility: sit to stand

STRENGTH AND FLEXIBILITY SIT TO STAND

Stand in front of the bench, ready to sit down on the edge.

Keep your feet hip width apart and toes pointing forwards.

Extend your arms in front of you for balance.

To start the move, slowly sit back, leading with your bottom

but keeping your back straight.

As soon as you make contact with the bench,

stand up in a slow, controlled manner.

The slower you do this exercise, the more challenging it is.
