How will smoking affect your appearance?
Hi. I'm Megan.
I'm 16 years old and I'm a smoker.
My first cigarette of the day is in the morning.
I have a glass of water or a cup of tea
and then have one straightaway as soon as I get up.
I think I am addicted because I do have to smoke every day
otherwise I do get a bit stressy.
And when I don't have one and I need one I get really angry.
I know my mum doesn't really like it
but my dad smokes so she can't really say anything.
I do say sometimes, "I'm going to give up,"
but then I do end up smoking.
My appearance is quite important.
I wouldn't go out without putting on any make-up or doing my hair nicely.
We're going to see a theatrical make-up artist
who's going to do my make-up
and make me look like I've been smoking for a long time.
- Hi, Megan. How are you? - Good.
I'm Sylvie. Would you like to come with me?
Right, Megan, we're going to take the make-up off you've got on at the moment,
and just before we do the make-up we are going to cover the mirror
so you can see the impact at the end.
It'll be quite a shock.
Oh, my God.
Not very nice, is it?
Ugh. Look at my teeth.
Ugh!
The teeth, definitely the worst bit's the teeth.
They look like they're rotting.
I look so old.
It's disgusting.
Shocking. It's horribly shocking.
I don't think I'm going to be smoking for much longer.
