Transcript of Christmas shopping

Walking 10,000 steps is great for maintaining your health

but an extra 3,000 steps a day can make a real impact on your fitness.

I'm going to see if doing my Christmas shopping

can help keep the effects of the mince pies at bay.

I've got my shopping list, and my shopping bag,

and I'm wearing my pedometer.

So let's go do some shopping.

I'm not meant to be shopping for me.

I think I want to go to a shop that way

before we head off to more shops this way.

I'm going into a shop where I bought my brother's present last year.

Hopefully, I'll find something.

1,150 steps and I haven't even got one present on the shopping list yet.

So it looks like I'm going to be clocking up more than 3,000.

2,380 steps. I haven't got one present on my list yet.

It's dark already.

It's time to look for Mum and Dad's present.

Hopefully, my luck's going to be in.

Excellent, I have three presents and I've walked 2,837 steps.

I'm almost at the 3,000.

It's time to call it a day.

I've bought almost all of the presents on my list.

In doing so I've walked a shocking 4,702 steps.

That's way above the extra 3,000 I was hoping to reach.

So I'm going to call it a day,

safe in the knowledge that shopping can be good for my health.
