Dispensing of medicines

We dispense both NHS and Private prescriptions and offer advice on how to benefit the most from your medication. If you have any questions or concerns regarding your medication, the pharmacist is always available to help.

Pharmacy NHS service: medicine use review (MUR) service

This service will allow you to have a face to face discussion with the pharmacist to discuss how you are getting on with your regular medicines. It will allow you to learn more about the medicines you are taking, ask any questions you may have and to discuss any difficulties you may have taking them.

Pharmacy NHS service: minor ailments service

Patients suffering from minor ailments can have a consultation with the pharmacist who will supply the appropriate medication they are authorised to, or refer the patient to the appropriate healthcare professional where they cannot help. This provides patients suffering from minor ailments an alternative to going to their surgery.

Pharmacy NHS service: new medicine service

This service provides support for people with long term conditions newly prescribed a medicine to help improve medicine adherence. it is designed to help you understand your condition and to get the most out of your new medicine.
This service is currently for people who have received their first prescription for a medicine to treat the following conditions:

asthma
copd (chronic bronchitis, emphysema)
type 2 diabetes
hypertension
antiplatelet/anticoagulant therapy.

Pharmacy NHS service: supervised consumption of prescribed medicines service

Patients who are required to have the administration of their medication supervised can do so at the pharmacy in a discreet, non-judgmental and confidential manner.

Pregnancy tests performed within the pharmacy.

Prescribing services

Repeat Dispensing Prescriptions
If you have to take the same medication regularly, your GP may issue you with repeatable prescriptions. This means you can be issued with a batch of prescriptions lasting up to a maximum of 12 months which you can leave at the pharmacy of your choice and have it dispensed at agreed intervals.

Stop smoking services

If you are a smoker and are serious about quitting, give yourself the best possible chance by using our NHS stop smoking service. Evidence shows you are more likely to quit if you get the right advice and support.
