Pharmacy NHS service: minor ailments service

Minor Ailments Scheme

Patients who normally receive free prescriptions can access a range of medicines free of charge from an agreed list of drugs. The service provides treatment for minor ailments such as coughs, colds and headlice etc. Please consult with your pharmacist about which conditions can be treated through this service.

You do not need to visit your GP in order to access this service, but you must be exempt from paying prescription charges.

Sexual health services

Emergency Contraception (EHC)/Morning After Pill and Chlamydia Screening and Treatment

This service provides Emergency Contraception (EHC)/Morning after pill for women 30 and under plus condoms are available with the (EHC) service. Patients accessing the service will also be offered a free Chlamydia Screen.

Men and women aged 24 may also access the Chlamydia screening with EHC.

For patients testing positive for Chlamydia this pharmacy can also offer treatment.
