Dr Hetherington has broad experience in general cardiology including the management of angina, heart failure, hypertension, cardiac rhythm disorders and valve disease and he has special interest is in the invasive management of coronary artery disease including coronary angiography, balloon angioplasty and stenting. He graduated in 1998 from the University of Leicester. Dr Hetherington’s career in medicine has taken him to the hospitals of Leicester, Carlisle, Middlesbrough and Newcastle-upon-Tyne. He also undertook an interventional fellowship at St James's Hospital in Dublin in Ireland.

He practices at Kettering General Hospital Trust with clinics in Kettering, Corby Diagnostic and Isebrook Hospital in Wellingborough. Dr Hogerefe runs a one-stop cardiology clinic combining relevant cardiac investigations with a consultant assessment on the same day. Dr Nishtar is multi skilled in all aspect of interventional cardiology, cardiac pace maker devices and advanced imaging, and has trained in Pakistan, the West Midlands and Leicester. He is also well published in peer reviewed journals and been presented has with the clinical excellence award in recognition of his service. He is a Fellow of the Royal College of Physicians and a member of the European Society of Cardiology.

Dr Shaukat has worked at Kettering General Hospital since 1996 and is firmly focused on providing patients with easy access to primary care. His specialised areas include interventional cardiology and imaging. Dr Shaukat and his team provide a 24/7 primary and acute percutaneous coronary intervention (PCI) service for the whole of the UK. This involves a set of procedures that aim to reduce and eliminate the symptoms of coronary heart disease. He is keen to see the hopsital’s cardiac services improve even further, after witnessing the significant developments of the department so far. He graduated in 1985 from the University of Manchester.
