Great treatment, automated appointments were a problem

Great treatment put my mind at rest.

Very satisfied with the receptionist, the nurse and the doctor - friendly efficient and knowledgeable - thank you.

The administration is not so good - I had an appointment booked for August which the hospital brought forward to July. But now I'm being told I cancelled and need to re-book and there seems no way to get out of the loop of receiving letters to remind me. Have advised my GP but they can't help with the automated appointment system.

A very positive experience

Once again I have to thank the NHS for their wonderful care and support in the oral and maxillofacial dept. The nursing staff go above and beyond their duty of care which makes an enourmous difference when you are a nervous patient. I had a wonderful surgeon who spent the time to go through the procedure in every detail. I didn't feel rushed and had every opportunity of halting the procedure at any time. I am delighted to report the procedure went very well so all the nerves prior were totally unessesary. I very happy and grateful patient.

Ron Francis reviewed Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery at Southampton General Hospital

No decision and no feedback.

My GP arranged for a consult to look at saliva/drooling/dribbling from one side of my mouth. As a result I was sent to Lymington Hospital and had a consult on 03/09/2015. This resulted in MRI on 20/10/2015 and CTI on 20/10/2015. The follow up was on 04/02/2016 and I was so disappointed that I was given no idea what the problem was . Even my GP thought maybe saliva glands or even a mini stroke, but the consultant seemed to have no idea and said I will refer you to a colleague, which of course has not happened.
I realise that my issue is not life threatening but I did feel that my treatment was not up to standard. I will go back to my GP and see if there is another route I can take to sort my problem out.
