A and E Department

The Accident and Emergency Department (A&E) at Darent Valley Hospital is open 24 hours a day, 365 days a year. The role of the A&E department is to treat patients who have suffered a serious injury or accident, or who have developed a sudden serious illness or medical condition.

The A&E department is an extremely busy unit, providing a acute care. The function of the A&E department is to provide prompt and appropriate services to those patients with acute illness or injury. On arrival to A&E patients are assessed, prioritised, and treated in terms of clinical need. It is our aim that all patients are seen and treated within 4 hours from arrival.
