The Priory Hospital Chelmsford is an independent hospital that specialises in the treatment and management of adults and adolescents with acute mental health problems. For people suffering from mild to moderate mental health issues, such as stress and anxiety, the hospital provides a range of outpatient based therapy services including group and individual cognitive behavioural therapy (CBT) tailored to suit the clinical needs of the individual patient.
For those people requiring inpatient care for more severe psychiatric illness such as depression, psychotic illness, substance and behavioural dependency or eating disorders, there are residential facilities for 44 individuals.
Acute mental health
Personalised treatment programmes are developed to treat a broad range of mental health conditions including depression, anxiety and post traumatic stress disorder.
Addiction treatment programme
Treatment for substance and behavioural dependency, such as alcohol, drugs, gambling, relationships and shopping. Involves an abstinence based 12 step treatment programme followed by 12 months of free aftercare.
Child and adolescent unit
The unit offers intensive in-patient care for the assessment and treatment of children and adolescents suffering from acute emotional, behavioural and mental health problems.
Eating disorder unit and day care services
Effective programmes for the successful treatment of anorexia, bulimia, binge eating and other related conditions.
We offer flexible access to treatment and ensure that individual circumstances are taken into account and the most appropriate treatment plan is drawn up.
Appointments are available Monday to Friday and Saturday mornings.
