About Hinchingbrooke Hospital

Hinchingbrooke Health Care NHS Trust provides high quality health care for the people of Huntingdonshire and surrounding areas. More than 160,000 people rely on our district general hospital for a range of services and we are renowned locally for our warm and friendly approach.

On 31 March 2015, private company Circle withdrew from the operating franchise under which they had managed Hinchingbrooke for three years. The hospital returned to NHS management on 1 April 2015

At Hinchingbrooke, we put our patients at the heart of everything we do - any patient coming to us for treatment should feel confident that they will receive high quality, safe care. We recently published our first Patient Experience Strategy which embodies our commitment to providing patient centred care and will guide how we put patient experience at the heart of everything we do.

Patients can access a wide range of specialties at Hinchingbrooke, including General Surgery, Ear, Nose and Throat (ENT), Ophthalmology, Orthopaedics, Urology, Vascular, Plastics, Breast Surgery and Gynaecology. Our hospital has 304 beds, as well as 23 cabins located in the Treatment Centre, a £22 million unit which opened in 2005. The Mulberry Suite is available for private patients.

An increasing number of referrals are now coming from family doctors in areas which traditionally have been referred to other hospitals. The main purchaser of our Trust's services is Cambridgeshire and Peterborough Clinical Commissioning Group (CCG), and we also provide services to a range of CCGs across Bedfordshire, Northamptonshire, Norfolk, Lincolnshire and Suffolk.

Feedback helps us to ensure we continuously improve the services and care we provide at Hinchingbrooke. We welcome feedback from patients and visitors and our Patient Advice and Liason (PALS) Team can be contacted on 01480 428964.
