The Shrewsbury and Telford Hospital NHS Trust provides midwife-led maternity services at Bridgnorth Hospital. This modern, pleasant and popular Midwifery Led Unit provides a relaxed, home-from-home environment where women who are expecting straight forward (low risk) pregnancies can give birth.
Antenatal care is provided at the Unit and women and their partners are welcome to attend antenatal classes. Postnatal care can also offered in Bridgnorth for women who give birth in the Consultant Unit in Shrewsbury and wish to transfer to the Unit for their immediate postnatal care.
This unit is for women expecting straight forward (low risk) births, and is linked to the consultant-led service based at the Royal Shrewsbury Hospital.
