The Royal Victoria Hospital, Folkestone is a community hospital that provides a range of local services. The hospital building is essentially Victorian, but has been upgraded over the years to provide a minor injuries unit with a walk-in centre (both operated by the PCT), a thriving outpatients department, the Derry Unit (which offers specialist gynaecological and urological outpatient procedures), diagnostic services, and mental health services provided by the Kent and Medway NHS & Social Care Partnership Trust.
