The Priory Grange Potters Bar is a specialist nursing facility offering a therapeutic environment for adults who are physically or learning disabled.
Aspen Unit – for physical disabilities
A specialist residential nursing home for physically disabled adults with a complex neurological condition who may also have a mental health diagnosis or demonstrate challenging behaviours.
We provide intensive, highly flexible care programmes in safe, caring environments for residents with complex care needs that cannot be met within conventional hospitals or care homes. An individual's conditions are often the result of organic, degenerative or neurological problems. The acquisition of new skills and changing behaviours are the central treatment elements.
We offer medium to long-term and respite care, and provide many people with a home for life in a highly flexible setting that responds to changing residents' needs.
Hadley Unit – for learning disabilities
The Hadley Unit within Priory Grange Potters Bar provides specialist assessment, treatment, and rehabilitation for adults with mild to moderate learning disabilities who have complex needs including challenging behaviour and mental health problems.
Our patients:
- Males and females aged 18 to 65
- Challenging behaviour associated with learning disability
- May have an enduring history of significant mental health problems with complex care needs who cannot be managed well within community services
- May be treatment resistant
- May have a level of vulnerability or have suffered from neglect or abuse that would place them at risk in other services
- May be detained under the Mental Health Act (1983)
- May have a diagnosis of mental illness
- May have a diagnosis of an autistic spectrum disorder (ASD)
- May have been in secure settings due to the complexity of their needs
- May not be able to be managed in non hospital settings
