Flu clinics 2012

Patients who are eligible for a flu vaccination can attend one of our walk in Flu Clinics; no appointment is necessary.  These clinics will be held on the following dates:-

Thursday 4th October 1 - 4 pm

Saturday 6th October 8.30 am - 12 pm

Thursday 11th October 1 - 4 pm

Friday 19th October 1 - 4 pm

Thursday 25th October 1 - 4 pm

Saturday 27th October 8.30 am - 12 pm

An appointment only clinic for children aged 12 and under, who are eligible for flu vaccination, will be held during Half Term week on Thursday 1st November from 2 - 3.30 pm. Please ring the surgery on 01903 768348 to make an appointment.

You are eligible for a flu vaccination if you are over 65 years of age or have one of the following chronic diseases:-

Stroke or transient ischaemic attack (also known as a "mini-stroke")

Diabetes

Chronic heart disease

Chronic kidney disease

Chronic liver disease

Chronic lung disease or certain types of asthma

You are also eligible if you are the main carer of an elderly or disabled person, if you are immuno-compromised or if you are pregnant.

A letter will be sent to all eligible patients during September

Minor Illness Clinic

Kingfisher Family Practice are pleased to announce that we have now introduced a new nurse-led Minor Illness Clinic.  This clinic is run by Sister Wendy Seccome on Monday mornings.  Please telephone from 8 am to book an appointment. 

Patients over the age of 5 can be seen for minor illnesses, such as:-

Sore throats

Flu and persistent coughs

Earache

Chest infections

Acute asthma

Hayfever

Diarrhoea and vomiting

Falls, cuts

Animal bites, insect bites and stings

Infected wounds

Rashes
