HOLIDAY IMMUNISATIONS
Anyone requesting travel vaccinations will need to fill in a form before an appointment can be made with the nurse. This needs to be done at least two weeks before your departure to ensure adequate antibody response. Ask at reception for a holiday vaccination form. We will try to accommodate all vaccination requests but the nurses are extremely busy and appointments may not always be available, especially at short notice. As an alternative Shakespeare Grove surgery hold a travel clinic, you will need to ring for an appointment and there is a charge for each vaccine. They can be contacted on Wigan 481531.
HOSPITAL WAITING TIMES
The NHS constitution gives you the right to start your non-emergency treatment with a maximum of 18 weeks as long as you choose it and it is appropriate for you, you have a right to start your non-emergency treatment within a maximum of 18 weeks from when you are referred by your GP, or to ask the NHS to take all reasonable steps to offer you a range of alternatives if this is not possible. EASTER
The surgery will be closed on Friday 6th April and Monday 9th April. Prescriptions required before this will need to be ordered on Tuesday 3rd
April at the latest. Please allow 48 hours for prescriptions.
SEXUAL HEALTH CLINIC
Appointments at the GU clinics for sexually transmitted infections are available on Saturday mornings as well as Wednesday evenings 5-7. This service is open to anyone not just patients registered at the practice. The telephone number for this is 07974490068. Emergency family planning and contraception is also undertaken at this clinic.
ONLINE SERVICES
GP appointments can be made and repeat prescriptions can be ordered on line. You must first register your details for this service. It is quick and easy to register. You will need to come into the surgery for an application form and then you will be given the relevant details to enable you to set up an account and use the system. Once registered you will be able to view any appointments that you have already made, cancel them if necessary or book a new appointment with the doctor.
