New GP at Archway

We have recently recruited a new GP to take over from Clare Shaw after she moved on at the end of September.

Dr Sanjay Dahiya, who lives in High Wycombe, is already a popular member of the team.  His clinics are on Tuesdays (all day) & Fridays (all day), he will also do a Tuesday morning from January 2012.

Dr Dahiya has a special interest in ENT- a useful tool to add to the surgery skillset!

In addition you will have a dedicated e-mail address to send comments & feedback to.

if you would like to be added to the group, please either ring Sue Kinchin on 01442 833380, or e-mail archway.ppg@nhs.net

Online service update

A great number of patients are now using this service with success & report it is user friendly & gives them freedom to book, cancel & change appointment, as well as request repeatable medication online at their convenience.

We have also introduced an SMS text service which confirms any bookings you make at the time of booking & again reminds you the day before your appointment- this too is very popular.

If you are interested in these services, please ask for details at reception.

Please pop-in & register with reception if you are interested.

New Clinical System information (Oct 09)

You may already have noticed the new electrical equipment in the waiting room- a large LCD screen above the reception desk & a smaller LCD screen to the right of the desk.

These are just the 'front line' of a new modernised clinical software package recently installed at Archway.

The new system is a powerful tool which will help us deliver the very best healthcare advice & ongoing treatment available to our patients.

The smaller screen provides a facility to check yourself in on arrival at the surgery- this may be particularly helpful when th receptionist is already on the phone or dealing with another patient in person.  this option is not obligatory & we are more than willing to help patients use the equipment should they wish to do so.

The larger screen offers information about services within the practice & is a patient callboard- the doctors 7 nursing team can announce your appointment throught his euipment.

Please bear with us whilst we all 'get to grips' with this new technology!

Thursday Evening Nursing sessions @ Archway WEF Sept 09

Rachel Coles is our HCA & is a qualified Nurse.

From September 2009, Rachel will be running a pre-bookable nursing clinic on a Thursday evening, from 4.30pm to 8pm.

This clinic is for blood pressure checks, travel vaccinations, childhood immunisations, dressings, contraceptive advice & checks, etc- in fact most nursing tasks with the exception of blood testa which have to be sent to the pathology lab in the mornings, as they do not keep well overnight.
