Information regarding the Minor Ailments Scheme available from pharmacies in the area

It’s called the “Minor Ailments Service”. It means that if you have one of the conditions listed below, you can go to any participating pharmacy in the Sutton and Merton PCT area and get a free consultation in a private area of the pharmacy, and (if required) a medicine to treat you. Any information you share with the pharmacist is strictly confidential. There will be no charge for the medicine if you are usually exempt from prescription charges. The usual NHS prescription levy will be charged if you are not exempt.

The ailments that are included in this service are:

Mouth ulcers

Sore Throat

Headache

Earache

Temperature

Acute Bacterial Conjunctivitis

Athlete’s foot
